I woke up to an empty bed and a quiet room. The space beside me was cool, which meant Khai had been up for a while.
I lay there for a moment, staring at the ceiling, then swung my legs over the side, even when I wanted to get up, I kept on turning and tossing around, so exhausted, more than I had ever been before.
A knock came at the door almost immediately, like someone had been waiting and had been listening to my heartbeat to know when I was awake, and I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.
"Come in," I muttered sluggishly.
Nora stepped inside, already dressed for the morning with a small smile on her face. "Good morning ma. I am here to help you with your bath."
