(3) Sire

Mason "I think I just met our mate," Max blurted out with a huge grin on his face. I dropped my bowl sh*t, I jumped up, and a maid came and quickly cleaned up the mess. "Thanks, Sheila. Sorry about that," I apologized. "That's quite alright, Alpha," she said. Sheila was a maid from our packhouse that we brought with us. She was basically our honorary grandmother, but that was beside the point. "What do you mean you think you met our mate? When? Where? How could you not know for sure? Where is she?" I said, looking past him, trying to see if someone else was going to walk in behind him; no one did. "When I went to see Principal Honders, on the stairs outside the main office, because I don't think she's of age yet, and she's in her dorm, I helped her with her suitcases," he said, answering my questions in order. I sighed. "What makes you think she was our mate?" I didn't want to get my hopes up, but it's been four months since we came of age, and we hadn't had any luck, so if Max thought he found a lead, then we should see where it takes us. "I don't know, there's just something there I can't describe, and her scent is amazing, like I've never smelt anything that good before, and she's not even eighteen yet," he said, throwing up his arms. "Well, we should talk to her tonight if she comes to the party. Maybe we should find out when her birthday is; it must be coming up soon if her scent is already affecting you. What did she look like?" I asked He shrugged, "beautiful." I stared at him, seeing if he was gonna add anything else. Nope, okay, that's it. "I'm gonna need more information than that, Max," I said, rolling my eyes. "I don't know, okay, she was smoking hot, like really hot, she's kind of short," he said, smirking. "Well, thanks, that was really useful." Just then, Shawn walked in with two kegs of beer. Shawn was our best friend and future beta; his suite was right next to ours. We were having a huge party with the entire school, so we were using both our houses since they were so close together. "Where do you guys want these?" He asked, lifting the kegs. Cameron was right behind him, also holding up two kegs. Cameron was our future gamma for our Luna. "You can just put them on the island counter with the other drinks." We had two islands on was filled with alcohol and sodas, while the other was filled with various snacks, and there were two more tables filled with snacks and drinks outside by the pool. They nodded and set the kegs down. "I think that's the last of it. People are gonna start showing up soon," said Shawn, checking his watch. "You gonna change or you going for lounge wear?" Max said, eyeing me in my basketball shorts. I rolled my eyes and headed upstairs. I hoped our suspected mate would show up tonight. ********* Ryana Evie wanted to take my new motorcycle to the party but of course I left it at home I usually just skateboard or walk wherever I needed to go when I was on campus, to be honest I didn't really like driving it out it was my presious baby and the most expensive gift I had ever gotten, my grandpa and brother had saved up from the time I was thirteen to by it for me when they first realized I was intrested in bikes, they even had it custom painted purple and black, but I had a hard time saying no to Evie and she loved riding on the back of it, she said it made her feel like a badass, no argument there it made me feel pretty cool too. So I was going to go pick it up. My brother said he'd drive it halfway for me so I didn't have to go all the way home. I was supposed to meet him in twenty minutes, so I was in somewhat of a rush. I grabbed my skateboard and headed towards the elevator. Evie was still in my dorm, using up all the hot water. I just knew she'd be in my room more than I was. The elevator dinged, and I ran out of the lobby and down the stairs. I tripped on the last step and crashed right into.... Elliot Fangreath!?! Elliot There was an intoxicating smell coming from the lobby of L.F. Academy. I first smelt it when Maddox Lotus walked in late for our meeting, which kind of irked me. I knew it wasn't coming from him, and I had no idea who it belonged to, but the fact that it was on him made me a little peeved, which was strange because I had no problem with Maddox. I mean, I got along pretty well with both the Lotus twins, but especially Maddox; he was the younger of the twins and a tad more friendly. When I walked out of the meeting I smelt the same scent in the lobby I had traced the scent to the elevator but I didn't have a key card to access the elevator and I couldn't ask to be buzzed up because I didn't know what room number to press, I suppose I could have picked any room and hoped the recipient would buzz me up that seemed a bit absurd. I went to my own suite to prepare for the twins' party. I showered and put on an almost identical outfit to the one I had been wearing before, except instead of a white button-down dress shirt, I wore a black one and left the top few buttons open to reveal some of my collarbones and some of my chest. I took out my phone. The first official day of school was tomorrow. Today was just a day for all the students to get situated in the suites. I checked the time. It was almost six o'clock. The party was probably starting by now. I prided myself on punctuality, but when it came to parties, being fashionably late was acceptable, so I decided to swing back to the main building and try my luck. I had only brought two of my cars with me from home: my Lexus and my BMW. I hopped in my Lexus and made my way back to the main building. I was walking up the steps when my Seneschal, Hunter, called. A seneschal was basically the vampire equivalent of a wolf Beta. "Hello" "Hey, where are you? I'm already at the party; it's in full swing now," he said. I could hardly hear him over the loud music in the background. "I'll be there soon; I just had to check something" "Alright, well, hurry before all the good booze is gone; it's going fast," he said before hanging up. I turned around to head up the stairs when a small frame crashed into me, making me drop my phone. Tingles spread across my arms and torso, and I reached out to grab hold of them before they fell. When I touched them, a wave of euphoria burst through me. I looked down, and it was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. She was shorter than me by almost a foot. She had clear Mocha brown skin; her lips looked pouty and soft, and were a delicious pink color. Her eyes were big and brown; they were adorable. She seemed lost in a trance like I was, staring at me with her big, beautiful eyes. Sire, my whole body screamed it at me. This girl was my sire; her scent was heavenly. She smelled of vanilla and rain with a hint of something seductive; something hit me, though. "You're a wolf," I said, shocked my sire was a she-wolf; it wasn't unheard of, but it was rare for different species to be fated. She shook her head as if to clear it. "Yes sir, I am so sorry I was in a rush and wasn't looking where I was going." "It's alright, no harm, no foul." I lent down to pick up my phone and noticed her dinged skateboard in her hand. "Are you on your way to the Lotus twins' party?" I asked. I wanted to ask why her scent was on Maddox and if she knew him, but I didn't want to be too possessive too fast. "Um, yes, but I was on my way to pick up my bike first. My friend and I were going to ride it there together," she said "Like a motorcycle," I asked with one eyebrow raised. She did give off rebel vibes. "Yes, sir" "You don't have to call me sir; you can call me Eli" She looked at me like I had two heads and laughed a little. "I couldn't possibly. You're Prince Elliot Fangreath of the Fangreath clan, aren't you" So she knew who I was then. "I am, but" I sighed, "what do you know of vampires and their sire bonds?" I asked. I wondered if she knew we were able to sniff out our sires from the moment we hit puberty and if she knew what a sire bond was. She looked at me, eyebrows raised. "Umm, I know a sire is to a vampire that a mate is to a wolf, right?" I smiled. "That's correct. Did you know that a vampire can find their sire from a young age and that a vampire doesn't have to wait until both parties are of age to find their sire" She shook her head. I took a deep breath. "Well, that's how I know that you're my sire; we're fated, can you tell"
