I watched him leave, my heartrate increasing dramatically as his words sunk in; he was threatening me without saying it, promising that should I fail he would ensure that I would be dealt with accordingly. I looked over at Blanche, who was still sat on the bed, staring at her hands, playing with the tips of her fingers. I wondered if she had been worried when they couldn’t find me, if she had hoped I was ok as I would have for her. Did she care for me as I did for her? I didn’t know for sure, even after peaking into her mind; seeing that she was nervous now that we were alone.
But why was she nervous? Her mind was unclear and confusing as I searched for me own answer, quickly pulling back when she turned to look over at me; her eyes soft and welcoming.
