Evelyn’s POV
Asher bit down hard on the man’s neck killing him and turned at Trent. “You stay here, and make sure not a single Ironclaw soldier leaves here alive!”
“Got it! But what about Holly—”
“I’ll go after Holly with Asher!” I said urgently.
With that, Asher and I climbed into the secret passage above, following the direction where Holly and Sid had fled.
The passage was narrow and long. I could hear Sid’s breathing getting further away, and it made my anxiety worse. A sharp rock scraped across my back, and I cried out in pain.
“Easy,” Asher said, sticking his head close. His warm tongue brushed over my wound. “We’ll catch up to them.”
