Sid left.
He said he’d get back to Emerald Howl Pack immediately to find out the truth about my parents and give Asher and me some time to talk.
We sat by the window, and I couldn’t stop my tears from falling. The truth I’d just learned felt like a knife carving a hole in my chest.
“God, I’m so sorry…” I wiped my tears, my voice shaky. “I know you wanted to talk about us and you were probably in a good mood when you came in, and now… God, I ruined everything…”
“Enough.” He squeezed my hand tightly, his voice firm. “Forget about me. You come first, always. Tell me, baby, what did Sid say to you?”
