It turned out to be a good thing that it was established early on that it wasn’t a date, because Topher ended up falling asleep in the theater. Meanwhile, James’s tiredness was overcome by the interest he had towards the film, that he—the one who had been up almost the entire previous night—was the one who remained awake throughout the duration of the entire two hours. But it was Topher who had the gall to say, “Oh, wow, that was really fun!” as they were dropped off by Leonard at the house. James didn’t hesitate to give him a look that clearly said he must be kidding, then said, “You were snoring halfway!” That wasn’t exactly true. Topher wasn’t one to snore, but his mouth did hang a little open, so when James listened closely enough in the theater, he could hear him softly breathing.
