As a child, Topher had been very afraid of his oldest brother. Ever since they were little boys, Charlie had always taken command of his younger siblings, and most adults seemed to listen well to him as if he held authority over them. Of course, Topher eventually came to know that the “respect" those adults had shown the little Charlie was out of fear of their parents.
