Until We Met

Chapter 2: Damon Anderson

All my life I've been in the spotlight. Since I was 4 years old. Mom was an actress and dad a singer. Both famous.  They retired and became my managers. Thankful for them because they don't suffocate me.

   Right now, I just finished shooting a movie. And I only get a month free before we start the sequel. I need a bigger vacation than a month. I want to be able to travel and enjoy someone who's everything to me.

   I walked into my house and was met by someone so amazing and special. She comes first.

"Daddy, I missed you." She said while jumping into my arms. I gave her a big Bear hug. My beautiful daughter, Sophia. She's 4 years old. And a very smart cookie. 

"I missed you more. And I get a month free and we can go to the carnival as I promised." I pinched her cheeks. She squealed with excitement. 

"How was the last day of shooting?" Mom asked while walking towards us.

"It was good. But I'm more happy to spend an entire month with my munchkin." I answered as Sophia hugged me.

   Sophia's mom died giving birth to her. She was such a sweet girl. I met her in the set. She was in charge of makeup and wardrobe. After her, I never dated anyone else. They weren't Clarissa. She was my world.

"Daddy, can we watch home videos of mommy?" 

"Of course." I put on the CD with the home videos of Clarissa. On the DVD. Sophia always ask me if she will ever get a new mom. I just tell her that someday. I have no plans of marrying anyone yet. I'm only 24 years old. 

   After a few clips, she fell asleep. I picked her up and carry her to her bedroom. "sweet dreams, baby girl." I kissed her forehead then left her room. 

   Clarissa and I never got married. But after knowing each other for 6 months, I asked her to move in with me. She didn't know if she should at first. But she ended up giving in after a month of begging her to move in with me. That's how crazy I was about her. I miss her everyday. We were supposed to marry after Sophia being born. But life had other plans. 

"Hey, I know it's hard, but a new girl will come to your life." Mom said while wiping my tears. Didn't realized I was crying.

"I know. But it's hard opening my heart. I know at some point I will have to, but for now, all my attention and time belongs to my daughter." I answered. 

"True, but don't give up to the idea of love. I want my son to marry a good girl and give me more grandkids." She said causing me to laugh.  

"What would I do without you mom. Thanks for being here. You're an amazing mom and manager. I love you." I said as I hugged her. 

"Love you more. Now I hate to cut this short. But your dad is blowing my phone. Says to come home and get ready for our trip to Hawaii. The man is so impatient." She chuckled. She went to say bye to Sophia and then gave me a hug. After that, she left.

  I woke up from my nap cause my phone kept ringing. Ugh. I picked it up and it was Sarah. 

"It's nap time. Why are you calling me at this time?" I said with a sleepy voice.  

"Because, Jack asked me out on a date again. He's just so dreamy. Okay I’m done. Just wanted to tell you that. See you in college." With that said she hung up. I'll kill her tomorrow.

    Well since I'm up, I went to the kitchen to drink water. Okay that's a lie. I grabbed some cookies with milk and then went to the living room to watch a movie. I run an exciting life. 

"Hey potato couch." I look up to see my parents.  

"What can I say, I love this couch and the couch loves me." I grinned. They just chuckled. 

"I thought you and Jack hit it off great. He's a good kid and I approve of him for you." Dad mentioned. 

"He’s a great guy, but he just didn't picked my interest. I want something more. Till that one guy comes. I'm good being single. Plus I have my puppy." I answered while petting her. 

"Alright then. Continue with your exciting life." Mom chuckled Before going to her room followed by dad.  

   After my movie, I went to my room and laid in bed. Will I ever meet that one guy who will flip my world upside down? Gets lonely sometimes. Maybe I should just say yes to the guys that ask me out. Maybe then I will have someone and with time turn to something more
