The car stopped, and we stepped down from the car. The warm evening breeze hit my face, but the surprise Martin had in store hit me harder. When I stepped down from the car, I saw a helicopter parked a few feet away, and my mouth parted in shock. “Don't tell me we are flying this,” I said, pointing at the helicopter. “We are not flying it,” he said with a cocky grin. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” I said, still frozen in place. “Nope. Come on.” He flashed me a smirk before pulling me forward again. The blades were already rotating gently, waiting. A part of me wanted to protest, to ask a hundred questions, but the other part, the one that wanted to explore and the one that trusted Martin, asked me to follow without asking questions. He held my hand as he led me to the helicopter.
