Martin POV I didn’t want to leave Mirabella alone in the bush, but I had no choice than to leave her there. Whoever had the nerve to attack me needed to answer for it. I have to know who and why? I couldn’t let it go without an answer, not this time. Instead of retracing my steps back to the road, I took another path back. They might still be there and the last thing I needed was to stumble into another ambush. Every sound I heard in the bush sounded like a warning, but I pressed on, quick and focused.
