I slowly opened my eyes, blinking against the harsh, white light above me. The sterile scent hit me first. The smell was sharp, clean, unmistakably clinical. My body felt heavy, like I had been asleep for days. I turned my head slightly, taking in the white curtains hanging on both sides, the IV in my arm, the thin blanket covering me. And then the memories hit me. I was walking in the rain, lost and confused. I remembered the cold seeping through my clothes, each step heavier than the last, leading me into the unknown. I was weak, exhausted, soaked to the bone, and eventually, I fell to the ground. Now, I am in a hospital. How I got here, I don't know.
