Chapter 10Ciaran The morning looked different on the surface than in space. In space, there were only social changes. The darkness of space was always present. The sun was always distant and faint. On the surface, the sun rose and cast a light that bathed the ground. The grass and trees were aglow. Animals called to one another. The rustling of leaves in the forest frightened him. His phone was filled with livid messages from his mother reminding him to never take off his necklace. Yellow light soaked Cove’s bare chest. Ciaran gulped, remembering the night before. It had been reckless and thrilling. The draw of Cove’s kiss and his own desires overpowered him. They led him to do things he would advise others never to do if they found themselves in his situation. He didn’t regret anything
