The out of town trip did hold but it was during the holidays so Anna did not feel too left alone since she was used to spending her holidays at home. Rafael was worse, his anger was a short fuse and Nia was constantly walking on egg shells around him. She missed the lively company of Nia and the bustle of school life. She began to wonder if at all she would get the chance to have a college education and so one night, she gathered the courage to ask Rafael.
“Sir” she wanted his attention
“What?” he asked gruffly
“Um we were told that we would begin to fill forms for college admission so-“
“Who the f**k gives a damn about college, be grateful you can read and write and don’t push your damn luck girl and get the f**k out of my sight, college my bloody ass”
