Selene’s POV Dominic’s phone rang again. He was still facing away from me, his shoulders tense, one hand clenched into a fist at his side. The other raised the phone to his ear. He didn’t speak at first. Then— “What?” The tone of his voice made my stomach knot. Sharp. Low. Cold. I stepped toward him, my heart thudding. His silence said more than words. “What is it?” I asked quietly, trying to steady my voice. He didn’t turn. He stood still for a moment, and then said something I couldn’t make out. His hand tightened around the phone, his knuckles pale. “What’s wrong?” I asked again, louder this time. He ended the call without answering me. His hand dropped to his side. “Dominic.” He turned. “She’s gone.” I blinked. “What?” He looked at me, expression flat. “Ariana’s been taken.
