Selene POV As soon as I closed the message, the door burst open again without warning. Two men stepped in, those same brutes who had shoved me into the car, their expressions stiff, like machines executing orders. My heart jumped as they approached. I stepped back instinctively, but there was nowhere left to go. “Get up,” one of them barked, gripping my arm without waiting for me to comply. “Don’t touch me—!” I snapped, jerking my arm back. It only earned me a tighter grip. They didn’t bother explaining. They dragged me down the hallway, past the walls and chandeliers that didn’t belong to any place I should be in.
