How dare he! How dare he look at me like I'm some goddamn monster! Like I wanted this, Like I wanted to be what I am. I storm into the house and slam the front door, not caring that I left him in the driveway. the anger inside me bubbling up, I need to hit something and release some of this anger. I go down to the basement where the gym is and tape my hands. I go straight to the punching bag in the far corner of the room and start hitting it, imagining its him. Too soon my hair is clingig to my face and neck and my body shiny from sweat. I throw another kick at the bag and it breaks falling to the floor with a massive thud and the tearing of leather fills the room and the sawdust and scraps of leather cover the floor around me.
shit.
I close my eyes and take a couple of deep breaths willing the anger to leave me. Once I feel calm, I go up to the kitchen and grab a trash bag and the dust pan and broom knowing I'll have to clean up the mess before the others come back. Once I've swept up all the sawdust and picked up all the scraps of fabric I carry the trash bag upstairs and put it in the corner in the kitchen and head upstairs to my room.
Suddenly feeling drained, I go to my bay window seat and clean up my books and the essays I was doing before he had shown up.
I could tell when he arrived his scent wafting through the open window. I remember seeing him nervous as i came out the door. tall and lean with dark hair meesed up from probably running his hands through it and bright blue piercing eyes. too bad hes a f*****g mutt. I shake my head. I don't want to think of him right now. I go into the bathroom and take a hot shower, trying to relax my muscles after being so wound up. once the water starts to go cold I quickly wash my hair and get out. I got into a pair of shorts and a baggy shirt and climbed into bed, hoping that sleep would eventually come to me.
.........................................
When the sunlight started to leak through my window I decided it was time to give up on sleep and headed down stairs to the kitchen and straight to the coffee pot.
"Look who's up and moving, where'd you go last night" Owen says from right behind me. I push past him and sit on the sofa in the living room.
"None of your business" I call to him. I pick up the remote and start flicking through the tv channels for something to watch.
"I saw you broke the punching bag again, that's the seventh one this month" he chuckles as he comes into the front room with a mug of red liquid. He sits next to me and puts his feet up on the coffee table.
"Again its none of your business Owen, what do you want any way?" I guess my quiet morning is out the window.
"Chill out, what's got you so riled up?" he frowns at me. I sigh and tell him about last night and he sits there and quietly listens, once I finish he growls.
"Who does that f****** mutt think he is." Owen leaps off the sofa and grabs his jacket.
"Where are you going?" I ask even though I have a good idea where he is headed.
" I'm going to go teach that dog a lesson or two" he states as he starts to walk towards the door.
"Owen just leave it, it's not worth it, I'm not going to see him again, its not like i have to deal with that pack of mutts" I remind him and after a minute of so he comes and sits back down and pulls my feet on to his lap.
"I just hate when people treat you like s**t" he sighs, relaxing further into the sofa.
"I know, me too." I mutter as I put on a movie Ive probably watched a dozen times.
"you know what you need? patrol, tonight , just you and me " he offers. He knows how much I love going on patrols. I love watching the supes be able to wonder around among the humans, but what i love most of all is the thrill of a fight , there is always some vampire out there not following the rules set out by the head vamps and its our job to inforce them here.
After I finish my coffee I go upstairs to my room and change into my favourite pair of dark purple yoga pants and a black sports bra and put on my trainers. I head straight for the gym where I know Everett will probably be. As I guessed, he was standing in the middle of a large mat we pull out for training and I can see he has pushed all the gym equipment to the other side of the room.
"Took you long enough, was starting to think you didn't want to train today " he chuckles as I step on to the mat and start stretching. Once I finished stretching I get into position and wait for him to make the first move.
"Alright lets get started" he smirks mischievously and charges towards me.
The hours go by quickly as we train and before I know it Amora's coming down to get us.
"You guys have been down here for hours, if you don't hurry and get changed Owens going to go without you." She mumbles while leaning against railing of the stairs.
"Sh** I forgot!" I moan as I quickly dart past her and up the stairs.
"And don't forget to eat something, you know how Elora gets when you don't eat." She shouts at me as I get to the stairs and run up to my room.
I jump in the shower and quickly wash off. Within 10 minutes I'm dressed in black skinny jeans a white tank top and my leather jacket and boots. I throw my wet hair up in a messy bun and race down the stairs to where Owen is waiting by the front door for me.
"I got you a baggy ready" Owen says as he hands me a thermos and yes you guessed it, it's blood. I like to think of it like its a protein shake. It keeps my body running and when I'm in a rush it acts like a quick meal.
"Thanks, you ready to hit the road?" I ask as I take the thermos from him and take a sip. Don't judge me, I know its gross.
"more then ready" he says as he holds the door for me.
