Chapter Nine

Greyson P.O.V
The emptiness I feel eveytime I leave her makes me feel hollow and cold inside.
I stop behind a tree and take off my joggers and shirt and shift into my wolf and start to run back to the pack house. The further away from her the more it aches and its a struggle to not run back to her and never let her leave my side.
As I reach the Packhouse I run through it to my room and shift back and shut my door.
I go to the bathroom and have a shower to wash her scent of me so that the others don't smell her. If they do who knows what they will say. I cant let anyone know about her, dad will be outraged that I'm mated to a vampire, he will start a war and kill her and I cant have that, so while it kills me to lose her scent I have to scrub it away.
Once showered and dressed I head down to the kitchen where everyone is already eating breakfast and I sit between Colton and my dad and dig into my pancakes.
"Where you been all night?" Colton asks after finishing a bite of his toast.
"Went for a run" I mutter around my bite of pancake.
"What all night?" He asks skeptively and I can tell he doesn't believe me.
"Dude you've been gone every night!" Logan's says from the other side of the table and I keep my eyes on my plate.
"Ive just been stressed lately with exams coming up so ive been going for runs in the evening around the perimeter of the pack, i stopped by the river last night in wolf form and i must have fallen asleep there". I shrug as I continue eating my breakfast.
"Good, shows your finally focussing on your future" my dad says over his paper.
"Don't tire yourself out too much" my mum says worriedly for the other side of my dad.
"He's fine June, he knows his own wolf" my dad softly replies to her and places his hand on hers reassuringly.
we all fall into silence as we finish our food.
"Right we better head out to class," I say to everyone as I get up and head for the door.
As I get in my car and Colton climbs in next to me and Logan behind him I feel them both staring at me and sigh. After a while their stares start to annoy me and I growl at them, hoping to get them to stop but no such luck.
"What?" I ask them while staring at the road. Better to get this over with.
"Where were you really/" Colton asks while eyeing me.
"just drop it" I ask them as I sigh.
"Hell no, where were you?" He states while looking straight at me. I know I cnat tell them becuase we were all raised to hate vampires wit every bit of our being and who knowswhat tey will do when the find out, they will prbably tell my dad and that is to dangerous for her.
"So?" Colton prompts when I dont reply.
"I was with her" I sigh. I need to keep as close to the truth, these two have known me for years so if I lie too much they will know.
"Who ?....Wait you mean your mate?" Logan's says shocked from behind Colton.
"Yeah" I sigh and try and think of what I should tell them. I cant tell them who she is but I know they are going to want to know more about her. i guess for a while I need to think carefully before I tellthem anything. Ive got to be strategic.
"So why aint we met her yet?"
"because its still early, me and her..went want to keep this way while we get to know eachother before all the serious s**t starts to take over." I sigh, god this is all getting stressful already. i need someone to talk to that wont jugde that shes a vamp and I cant exactly o the her about it all, thayt will make her upset and I cant see her like that and I dont want to ruin our time together. theres one persomn I know that judge and will actually give me decent advise, well I hope she will at least.
as I park the car at campus I walk over to where she normally sits.
I hope I can catch her before she heads to class.
As I walk around the side of the science building i spot her sitting on a bench against the wall. as if sensing me her head pops up and turns in my direction and a look os surprise flashes across her face before it settles with a warm smile.
"hey Greyson"
"hey Riley, can we talk?" I ask her and pray to the goddess she will say yes..
