I watched Damien pace the hallway relentlessly, his jaw set and his expression filled with annoyance. Ever since Kira lost her memory, this was actually the first time he’d snapped at her. And I can’t say I liked it.
Still, I couldn’t help but understand the situation he was in. While listening to the things he said to her—how he laid his vulnerabilities bare—I realized something that made my heart clench.
Damien cared for Kira more than Dane and I did. And it was quite funny because he was the one who hated her the most. He wanted her to suffer and beg for death. We all did.
