I Heard a Bang

I heard a bang. 

Brent had to calm his horse down after it went a little out of control but me...

Snowflake just bolted. I tried to calm her down but she just got more upset and kept running. I was breathing hard now and my heart was racing. Liam and Carl was still struggling to calm their horses and Brent was following me but his horse is not running as fast as mine.

Finally Liam and Carl started to follow as well.

I was struggling to stay on Snowflake. she was being too rough and looked like she wanted me off. Brent was gaining in on me. I looked back and saw all three of them behind me one after the other. 

When I looked in front of me again there was a tree branch as high as my head when sitting up straight and ducked just in time not to hit my head. 

Brent started getting close enough to get Snowflake's reins but Snowflake jumped over a log and he got a bit behind again. He came close again and after a few seconds finally got the reins of Snowflake. keeping the horse from running off any further.

After we finally stood still we were both breathing very hard. "Thank you." I was out of breath.

He got off his horse immediately and came up to me. "Are you alright?!"

I looked up at him smiling. "I have been through worse." I took a deep breath.

He smiled back and we both started laughing.

Finally Liam and Carl arrived with alert eyes looking if I was alright and making sure Brent hasn't hurt me or tried anything. As soon as they saw I was in one piece, looking confused when they saw we were laughing. They asked if I was okay.

I nodded smiling. "I don't think Snowflake likes me very much."

It was nice taking off the edge after all the seriousness.

Brent looked up at me again. "I think you should ride back with me."

I nodded in agreement. My cheeks started heating up. "That will be fine."

Liam didn't like the idea but he did tell me they won't try something out in the open. They will make it look like an "accident". Like the horse... but Brent saved me.

Liam helped me onto Brent's black horse with a white patch on his chest. I was sitting in front of Brent. His horse was called nightshade. 

I suddenly felt the warmth of Brent's body enveloping me as his broad shoulders was covering me to take the reins and off we went to the palace with Snoflake riding between Liam and Carl.
