Chapter #13 { The Ticking Clock }

2012 Words

**GRACIE** Two weeks before the wedding, I was drowning in finals and flower arrangements. "I can't believe you scheduled your wedding right after finals," my study partner Emma said, shaking her head as we sat in the library. "That's insane." "Tell me about it." I rubbed my eyes, staring at my economics textbook. "But Gabriel wanted to get married this summer, and this was the only weekend that worked." "Your fiancé sounds impatient." "You have no idea." I smiled despite my exhaustion. "But I wouldn't have it any other way." Emma leaned back in her chair. "I still can't believe you're getting married. You're only twenty." "I know." I'd heard it from everyone- my professors, classmates, even the lady at the bridal shop. "But when you know, you know." "That's disgustingly romantic."
