My heart sank to the soles of my feet as I heard the single word of the people that I had not expected to see or hear from since I was taken away from their pack by Max after he had tricked one of them.

The witches had joined the fight, but according to the soldiers in front of us, they were not on our side.
“What do you mean by that?” Max asked them after recovering from his shock. “How did witches join in on the fight? What are they even doing here?”
