Day 13-2

Sera and Theo made their way to his office in the Manor House in silence. “When’s Bella joining us?” Sera said abruptly. “What do you mean?” “I presume you’ve connected to her and told her to meet us there, you know... through your Alpha link.” “How do you know about that?” “I’m human, not a moron.” As she glared at him. “I was imprisoned by Lycans, all my friends are Lycans. I’ve learnt a thing or two.” “Oh yeah?” Theo saw a challenge. “How about a little test on the walk back then? Got to make sure you learnt accurately.” “Fire away.” She said smugly. “Name the ranks, roles and tell me who is who from my pack.” He started off easy. “In no particular order: the Gammas, tend to be the cooks, cleaners, teachers. Important members of the pack but in some treated as the lowest and like slaves. There’s the Omegas who are the commander of the troops, train the soldiers with the help of the Beta and Alpha sometimes. Omega is in charge of security and safety and thinking about all possible avenues, yours is Peter. The Beta, perhaps the most important role in a pack, keeps everyone in line including the Alpha. The wonderful Bella plays this part. And I’m forgetting someone...” “Yes you are.” Theo hated to admit it, but he was actually having a little fun, he was starting to see her charm and why Lucy cared for her so deeply. He also realised this was perhaps what Katrina warned him of, and regardless of who said what it was his mind to make up and decide what Sera was. “Luna!” Sera clapped her hands together. “The female leader of the pack, compliments the Alpha, stereotypically is the mother of the pack and cares for all members. But can still be a bloody strong fighter, and determined to keep her pack safe.” “All correct so far, still missing one...” “I can’t think of any other rank in packs.” Sera playfully stroked her chin, miming a heavy thinking face. From across the square Bella came to join. “I’m kidding Theo.” As Sera saw a joy leave his face a little. “Lastly there’s the Alpha. The big gun, main honcho. He makes the final decision; his duty is to keep all within his walls safe and secure. To protect....” She trailed off. Bella smiled softly. “That was an easy test.” “I knew you’d join us eventually.” Sera replied her smile. “Did Doc teach you?” Bella had taken stride between Sera and Theo, ever the protective Beta. “Yeah, after quite a bit of pushing. He didn’t want me to overwhelm me with information, about a world I knew nothing about but after persuading him that I was most definitely in this world I should know what I’ve got myself into.” She laughed. “Got yourself into?” Theo was Puzzled. “Sounds like you walked into this, not dragged kicking and screaming.” Bella elbowed him in the ribs. “A turn of phrase, I’m sure.” If looks could kill, Theo would be a bloody mess by now. You are supposed to be getting her help Theo, not questioning her every word. I have Bella, not panic. But I still have my duty to find out what I can. “You two having a nice chat there?” Bella and Theo were equally surprised. “How-?” “You’re eyes shimmer. You’ll have never noticed but if you look real close there always a shimmer.” Bella and Theo both took a mental note. “We’ve always called it Honey. Like you get from a bee, as it’s a hive mind facility. You can talk to just one member or all if you wanted to. Only the Alpha and Luna have the power to talk to all normally, the Beta and Omega can in either a pack emergency or if the pack is particularly strong and connected.” “You are truly a surprise Sera.” Bella spoke proudly. “Is part of this because you wanted to test my knowledge for when the Guild arrive?” Theo didn’t stop a beat and answered Seras question. “Yes. I want to prepare you for what they may ask, and they won’t be nice or kind, not even polite.” “The rumours have been spreading like wildfire, not a huge secret when you’ve got 17 survivors in your walls Theo.” “Well, there will be more soon.” He smiled politely for the first time. Sera could tell it was an uncomfortable one. By this point they had reached the Manor House, the rest of their journey in silence. It was the first time Sera had consciously and willingly walked into a Manor House, and couldn’t help a slight shiver that ran over her left hand and up her arm to her Red Sun mark. “I assure you, we mean you no harm Sera.” Bella was incredibly intuitive; it would have taken a very keen eye to notice what Sera felt. She was starting to see the appeal in how the Goddess choose Bella as Docs mate. “I hope so.” Sera chuckled lightly. “In the interest of open and honest communication, there’s 3 things you should know.” She stopped by the main doors and perched on the marble wall lining the stairs. “1. My crew have been watching us since we left the infirmary and I’m pretty sure that Lucy and Doc are concerned you’re going to kill me. 2. I’ve never willingly walked into a Manor House before so forgive me for having a moment. And 3....” She gauged their faces before continuing. “I wasn’t Tyreens twisted lover. I was his mate.”
