Chapter 85: When the Sky Broke The sky was breaking apart. High above the battlefield, the fractured core of the Cataclysm trembled violently as cracks spread across its dark surface like lightning frozen in time. Aria’s silver aura flickered as she fought to maintain control. Her hands trembled under the crushing pressure of the unstable storm. “I can’t… hold it…” she whispered breathlessly. The massive sphere pulsed again. CRAAAAACK! Another fracture tore across its surface. Lightning exploded outward in violent bursts, illuminating the entire sky like the beginning of the world’s end. Below the collapsing storm, Kael forced himself upward through the raging clouds despite the pain burning across his wounded body. Blood dripped from his shoulder where Dravoryx’s claws had struck him earlier. But he ignored it. His golden eyes remained fixed on only one thing. Aria. And the storm above her. Dravoryx hovered nearby, watching the chaos with twisted satisfaction. The Devourer’s monstrous wings stretched wide as dark energy poured from the cracks in his own body. “You see?” he growled. “Even your own power cannot control the destruction you have unleashed.” Aria glared at him through the storm. “This isn’t destruction,” she shouted. “It’s the end of yours!” Dravoryx laughed. But before he could respond— The Cataclysm pulsed again. This time, the entire sphere collapsed inward. The storm reached its final breaking point. Kael’s eyes widened. “It’s about to blow!” Aria could feel it too. The core had become completely unstable. The storm was seconds away from detonating. If it exploded here— The blast would consume the valley below. The kingdom. The mountains. Everything. Aria closed her eyes for a brief moment. The Moon’s voice whispered once more in the depths of her mind. “Balance the storm.” Her silver eyes opened again. Moonlight erupted from her body like a rising star. “Kael!” she shouted. “Now!” Kael didn’t hesitate. With a powerful roar, the Alpha King launched himself toward her through the storm. Golden energy burst from his body as he reached her side. Their powers immediately connected again. Silver. Gold. Moon and Alpha. Together. Aria lifted both hands toward the collapsing core. Moonlight surged upward like glowing chains wrapping around the sphere. Kael added his own power. Golden energy reinforced her control. For a single moment— The collapsing storm paused. Dravoryx’s eyes widened in shock. “What?!” Aria’s voice rang through the sky. “Fall where no one will die!” With one final surge of combined power— They pushed the collapsing Cataclysm higher. Higher into the upper sky. Far beyond the battlefield. Far above the mountains. Then— The storm exploded. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! The sky shattered with blinding light. A massive wave of silver and black energy erupted outward like a newborn sun. Lightning scattered across the heavens. Clouds were ripped apart by the violent shockwave. For a moment, the entire world turned white. The explosion lit up the night sky across the entire kingdom. Even distant cities saw the light flash across the horizon. Below the storm, the battlefield trembled violently. Warriors covered their eyes as the shockwave passed overhead. The mountains shook. The forests bent beneath the pressure. But the blast did not destroy the valley. Because the explosion had happened far above them. High in the sky. Inside the storm itself. Slowly… The light faded. The clouds began clearing. The roaring winds weakened. For the first time since the battle began— The sky grew quiet. But floating within the fading storm clouds… Three figures still remained. Aria. Kael. And Dravoryx. The Devourer’s monstrous body drifted through the smoke of the explosion. His armor-like scales were shattered. Dark energy leaked from countless wounds. His wings trembled weakly. For the first time… Dravoryx looked truly wounded. Truly furious. His burning red eyes lifted toward Kael and Aria. “You… dare…” His voice trembled with rage. “You destroyed my Cataclysm.” Kael stood beside Aria, breathing heavily but still standing strong. The Alpha King’s golden eyes burned brighter than ever. “We’re not finished yet.” Aria’s silver aura slowly flared again beside him. The battle was not over. But the Devourer had just lost his greatest weapon. And now— The final fight was about to begin.
