The battlefield erupted into chaos.
Wolves lunged through the air, claws slashing and teeth snapping as the royal army clashed with Magnus’ rebel forces. The ground shook under the pounding feet of hundreds of warriors.
Aria stood just behind the front line, her heart racing.
She had never seen anything like this.
Warriors shifted between human and wolf forms, fighting with brutal strength. The air was filled with the sounds of growls, metal striking metal, and the cries of wounded soldiers.
“Stay behind us!” one of the royal guards shouted as he blocked an attacking rebel wolf.
Aria nodded quickly, but her eyes searched the battlefield.
She spotted Kael almost immediately.
Even in the middle of the chaos, he was impossible to miss.
The Lycan King fought like a storm.
His sword moved with terrifying speed, striking down rebel wolves who dared to approach him. Several enemies lay scattered around him already.
Every movement was powerful.
Every strike precise.
Aria had never seen him like this before.
“He’s incredible…” she whispered.
But suddenly—
A rebel wolf broke through the front line and charged straight toward her.
The guard beside her shouted in alarm.
“Behind you!”
Aria spun around just as the massive wolf lunged.
For a split second, fear froze her in place.
Then the familiar warmth surged through her chest.
The Moon-Bound power.
Her hands began glowing bright silver.
The rebel wolf was only a few feet away when Aria instinctively raised her hands.
A burst of silver light exploded outward.
BOOM!
The wolf was thrown backward across the battlefield, crashing into two other rebels.
The nearby soldiers froze in shock.
One of them whispered, “The Moon-Bound…”
Aria stared at her glowing hands.
“I did it…”
But the energy didn’t fade this time.
Instead, it continued growing stronger.
The silver glow spread up her arms again, swirling like liquid moonlight.
Above the battlefield, the clouds parted slightly.
A beam of moonlight fell directly onto Aria.
The warriors nearby stepped back nervously.
They could feel the power radiating from her.
Across the battlefield, Magnus suddenly stopped fighting.
His eyes locked onto the glowing figure of Aria.
“There it is,” he said softly.
“The true power of the Moon-Bound.”
Kael noticed Magnus had stopped and followed his gaze.
When he saw Aria surrounded by silver light, his expression tightened.
“Aria…” he muttered.
Magnus slowly began walking toward her.
Rebel wolves quickly cleared a path for him.
Aria saw him approaching and felt her stomach drop.
Magnus stopped several steps away, studying her carefully.
“You’re stronger than I expected.”
Aria raised her glowing hands defensively.
“Stay back.”
Magnus chuckled.
“You still don’t understand, do you?”
He pointed toward the moon shining above them.
“That power doesn’t belong to the Lycan King.”
His voice dropped slightly.
“It belongs to whoever can control it.”
Kael stepped between them instantly, his sword raised.
“You’ll never get near her.”
Magnus sighed dramatically.
“You’re always in the way.”
Without warning, Magnus attacked.
His sword clashed violently against Kael’s blade.
CLANG!
The two Alphas locked in combat again, their movements faster than most warriors could follow.
Aria watched in horror as their battle intensified.
Each strike sent sparks flying across the battlefield.
Magnus suddenly twisted his blade and knocked Kael’s sword aside.
Then he lunged forward.
But Kael shifted instantly.
Bones cracked as he transformed mid-fight into his massive Lycan war form.
The enormous black wolf slammed into Magnus, sending him skidding across the ground.
The surrounding warriors jumped back in shock.
Magnus stood up slowly, wiping blood from his lip again.
His smile returned.
“Yes… this is the fight I’ve been waiting for.”
Behind them, Aria’s silver aura continued glowing brighter.
And far above the battlefield—
The moon shone brighter than ever.
As if something ancient was watching.
Waiting.
