The night air was filled with chaos.
Flames spread through the outer village as the monstrous creature tore through houses like they were nothing more than fragile toys. Stone walls crumbled under its claws, and terrified villagers ran in every direction.
Children cried.
Mothers screamed.
The ground shook every time the creature moved.
But in the middle of the destruction stood Kael.
His golden aura burned brightly under the crimson glow of the Blood Moon.
The monstrous beast towered above him, its massive wings twitching as it studied him carefully. Its glowing red eyes burned with ancient intelligence.
For a moment, neither of them moved.
Then the creature roared.
The deafening sound shook the entire valley, sending a wave of wind crashing through the burning village.
Kael didn’t flinch.
Instead, his Lycan power surged.
His body shifted partially into his wolf form—his claws lengthened, his muscles tightened, and his golden eyes glowed brighter than ever.
Behind him, the warriors arrived.
Commander Roran raised his sword.
“Protect the villagers!” he shouted.
The soldiers rushed forward immediately, forming defensive lines as they guided the frightened villagers away from the battlefield.
But the creature ignored them.
Its eyes remained fixed on Aria.
Standing behind Kael, she felt the strange pull growing stronger inside her chest.
Her silver mark burned against her skin.
The beast took a slow step forward.
The ground cracked beneath its enormous weight.
Kael growled low in his throat.
“You take another step,” he warned, “and I rip your head off.”
The creature stopped.
But it did not attack.
Instead, its massive head tilted slightly as it stared at Aria.
Almost like it was studying her.
Or… remembering something.
Aria stepped forward without thinking.
“Aria, wait,” Kael said sharply.
But she couldn’t stop.
Something inside her was calling her forward.
The silver glow surrounding her body slowly grew stronger, illuminating the battlefield like pale moonlight.
The creature suddenly lowered its head.
The warriors watching nearby froze in confusion.
“Why isn’t it attacking?” one of them whispered.
Even Kael frowned.
This didn’t make sense.
These creatures were supposed to be ancient destroyers.
But this one was behaving differently.
Aria raised her hand slowly.
The silver light around her fingers shimmered like liquid moonlight.
When the creature saw the glow, it suddenly let out a deep rumbling sound.
Not a roar.
Something else.
Something almost like recognition.
Images suddenly flashed through Aria’s mind.
Ancient memories.
She saw a battlefield covered in shadows.
A powerful woman standing beneath the moon.
Creatures like this one kneeling before her.
Aria gasped and stumbled backward.
The vision vanished.
Kael immediately grabbed her shoulders.
“What happened?”
Her breathing was shaky.
“I saw something,” she whispered.
“What?”
But before she could answer—
A loud screech cut through the sky.
Everyone looked up.
More creatures were descending from the dark clouds surrounding the Blood Moon.
Their massive wings blocked out the stars as they circled the kingdom like vultures.
The first beast suddenly stepped backward.
Then it spread its wings.
But instead of attacking…
It retreated.
The monster leapt into the sky and flew back toward the other creatures.
The warriors stared in disbelief.
“Did we just scare it away?” one soldier asked.
Darius laughed behind them.
“Oh no,” he said.
“That’s not what just happened.”
Kael’s expression had grown serious.
He watched the creature disappear into the clouds.
“They’re gathering,” he said quietly.
Roran looked confused.
“For what?”
Kael’s golden eyes lifted toward the Blood Moon.
“For war.”
The creatures began circling higher and higher above the kingdom.
Almost like they were waiting.
Watching.
Aria’s mind was still racing.
Those visions felt too real to ignore.
She slowly looked at Kael.
“Those creatures…” she said softly.
“They’re not just monsters.”
Kael frowned.
“What do you mean?”
Aria swallowed.
“I think… they used to serve the Moon.”
The wind suddenly howled through the valley as the Blood Moon glowed brighter.
Far above the kingdom, a massive shadow moved behind the clouds.
Much bigger than the others.
Its glowing eyes opened slowly.
Watching the kingdom below.
Waiting.
