The truth hurts

Attica looked over at Kensley in the cage, still laying unconscious, she looked back over to Hunter with a weary look as she slowly made her way over to the stool by the work table. She sat down, never taking her eyes off of him. I'm very sorry Attica. I would never want any of you in danger. I don't know what the hell I was thinking! I guess I wasn't..... thinking. Hunter said as he moved closer to Attica. He ran his hand through his hair an then stuck his hands into his pockets, not really knowing what to do with them. He was very nervous and didn't know how to explain this all to her without making himself look like a terrible person. I don't know what to say. I loved her, I trusted her. There are no good excuses why I kept it from everyone. I wish every single day that I would have come to you guys with this. At first I thought she was just venting, you know, telling me how nice it would be to be ourselves. I fell for it. All that stuff she said out there, I had no idea about. I swear on my daughters life. If I knew she had a evil witch mother, I would have told you guys. You have to believe me! Hunter said as he took his hands out of his pocket an threw his hands up in surrender. Attica looked at him with a sad look. She felt bad for him. It would be terrible to be in his position right now. Hunter, it's okay, I believe you. You said that it may be to late. What did you mean by that? Attica asked nervously. Hunter sighed an looked over at Kensley, when he turned back to Attica he had unshed tears forming in his eyes. He shook his head an drew them back in. No! I am not gonna shed another tear for her. Attica, the other day, when I came home from work, s**t! It all makes sense now. She, she........ was on the phone with someone, she didn't hear or see me come in. I heard her tell someone that it was already done and that they would be here in four days. I don't know who she was talking too, but I do know it was a woman. I don't know who she was talking about when she said they would be here in four days either. Attica, that was three days ago. I'm so sorry, I should have told you! I'm so stupid! He yelled an knelt down to hold his head in his hands. Attica stood and walked over to him. She put her hand on his shoulder. Hunter, please, stand up. Attica said softly. Hunter looked up at her. This time the tears were falling freely. He slowly stood. They were face to face. Hunter, we will figure everything out. We always do, and your going to help us. Okay? Attica asked, still speaking in a soft tone. Hunter nodded and Attica pulled him into a hug. We will make sure everyone is okay. That is what family does. I know how bad you are beating yourself up over this, but I want you to know, Xavier was relieved when he found out that you didn't know about anything Kensley said. You mean a lot to him Hunter. He could not believe it when Amony told us about you an Kensley. He said that he couldn't believe it. He wants you here Hunter, he wants you to stay apart of this family. Attica explained as she pulled back an looked into his bright green eyes that were full of tears. She wiped at the tears an gave him a smile. Everything will work itself out. We will all get through this........... as a family. Attica added. Hunter nodded again. He couldn't trust his voice at the moment, he was to upset. He took a deep breath an looked over at Kensley again. Soon as he knew his voice wasn't gonna crack he looked back at Attica. What about her? He asked with anger on his face. Attica gave him a sad smile an looked over at Kensley laying there, helpless. I'll talk to Xavier, see if Anthony an Tia will put cameras on her. That way we can keep a close eye on her without someone having to stay in here twenty four seven. Attica suggested. Okay. Hunter said with another deep breath. Attica took her arm in his. Come on, Let's go tell the others what you told me. Attica said as they turned and walked out of the barn. Soon as the door closed, Kensley sat up with a huge smile on her wicked face. She gave out an evil little laugh. She knew her mother would get her out of here. She probably already sensed when they killed me. She thought to herself. She focused on her daughter an thought her name over an over. She had only practiced mind waving with her daughter once but she hoped her daughter picked it up as quick as she did. She sent her daughters name as a question to see if she would get a response. She waited a few moments. Nothing, no response. She tried again and waited. Nothing. Then she realized what kind of cage she was in and who put her here. She slunk back against the side of the cage. She took a deep breath realizing that no magic could get through these bars. This cage was spelled. She realized at that moment, no one was coming for her, and no one could get her out of this but herself. Always have to have a Plan B. She thought to herself. She unlaced her shoe an tied two loop holes on each end to put her fingers through. She wrapped the shoe lace around one of the bars an started to cause friction by rubbing the shoe lace back and forth. She smiled again an continued to work on the bar with her shoe lace. It may take awhile, maybe a very long time, but she would get out of here and get back to her mother. She didn't care anymore. She was going to tell her everything, no holding back. She didn't care that her daughter was here either. She was gonna try to get to her when she escaped this dreadful cage, but if she couldn't, there are always sacrifices we must make for the greater good. She said to herself as she worked on the bars with a evil smile on her face.  Hayden panicked soon as Attica told them about Hunters confession. She had taken Ava home an started packing their bags for a trip to the Island. She threw a few outfits an underwear, socks, pj's, toys an whatever she thought Ava may want. Stuff she couldn't replace on the road. She always told herself that she would never run, that she would stand an protect what is theirs, but this time, something in the pit of her stomach told her to go. She stood there staring at the suitcases. She couldn't believe this was happening again. She didn't want to believe it after five whole years of peace an quiet. At least they got that. If she would have known what was going on, she would have tracked each and everyone of the Devil's Flag members down an killed them one by one. A single tear slipped from her right eye and started running down her cheek, she wiped it quickly an leaned over to zip Ava's suitcase. She left it on the bed and went to her and Devlin's room with their two suitcases. She began to pack hers when Ava walked in. Hey Mommy, whatcha' doin'. Ava said sweetly as she held her baby doll tightly against her chest. Ava has had that doll since she was born. That doll was like her security blanket. It's a stuffed pink an white doll with a rattle inside of it. It rattles every time the doll is moved. She always falls asleep with the doll laying over her eyes. It was so old and ratty looking. Hayden had tried to replace the doll on several occasions but Ava would not trade it. Hayden stopped packing and laid the clothes she had in her hands on the top of the suitcase. She gave her daughter a sweet smile and walked over to her, she knelt down. Well, Sweet Pea, we are gonna take a little trip, okay? Hayden said softly. Ava smiled. Okay Mommy, that sounds like fun. Can we go see Grandma an Grandpa. Ava asked curiously. Hayden gave her a sad smile. I wish we could Pumpkin, but, I don't know where your Grandma and Grandpa live. If I did we would go there first thing. Ava got quiet for a moment an looked down at her doll. What is it Ava? Hayden asked while she still knelt in front of her daughter. She pulled Ava in for a hug. Ava hugged her back with one arm while she held her baby doll in the other. Nothing Mommy, but, I know where they are. Can we go if I can tell you where? Ava asked. Hayden pulled back from the hug to look at Ava. Honey, How do you know where they are? They are spell hidden? Hayden questioned. Ava smiled. Mommy. I am way more powerful than that little blonde witch that spelled them. Ava laughed. Hayden was taken aback. She stood up to get her head straight. She ran her hand through her hair an took a deep breath. She looked back at her daughter in disbelief.  Well, I guess we will go see your grandparents then. I need some answers about your magic an all of this craziness anyway. Hayden said softly. Ava started jumping around, excited to be getting to go to her grandparents house. She started singing. "I get to see grandma an I get to see grandpa, I've seen then in my mind all my life but now I get to see Grandma an Grandpa in real time, in real life!" She repeated that over an over. Hayden watched her daughter dance an sing with a smile on her face. In that moment she felt happy. Happy that her only daughter was so happy, happy that she would actually get to see her parents even though she thought all this time that they were dead. She still couldn't believe that they were actually alive, She knew in her heart that they hadn't abandoned her to hurt her but to help her live a normal life. She was living a normal happy life until that faithful night on the road to that party when that drunk man slammed into her car an she had died three times on the way to the hospital. In that moment she was happy that she had to go through all that pain an suffering to get to where she was now, If it had never happened, she would have never met Devlin in the dream realm, she would not be standing here watching their daughter dance and sing. She knew there were a lot of hoops to jump through to keep her family, but she would fight until the day she died to keep them with her. She knew at that moment she was happy, their family was happy, an to keep them that way, they had to go and find answers an the only way to do that is to find her parents. They were the only ones that could give them the answers that they so desperately needed. She was so lost in thought she didn't notice for a minute that Ava had stopped dancing. She stood completely still, her baby doll hugged tight to her chest, a look of raw fear on her face. Then Hayden felt it. She didn't know how she was feeling what she felt, but she did. She ran over to Ava and picked her up, holding her against her chest as she ran into the dining room and grabbed her phone off of the table. She dialed Devlin's number, he answered on the first ring. Devlin, something is coming, we need to go. She said nervously as she hugged Ava to her chest tightly. She hung up the phone. She adjusted Ava so that she could look into Ava's glowing blue eyes. Pumpkin, are you okay? Hayden asked in a soft voice. Ava nodded. Mommy, Please, Please, don't let them take me. Evil is coming Mommy. You feel it too, don't you Mommy? Ava asked as tears ran down her face. Hayden nodded an pushed Ava's head against her shoulder. It's okay Sweet Pea, Mommy an Daddy would never let anyone or anything take you. I would die before I let that happen. Ava looked back at her Mommy. We need to leave before it gets dark tomorrow. It will be here when the sun goes down. Ava said seriously. Hayden gave her daughter a sad smile. Well, good thing we are leaving first thing in the morning. Hayden reassured her. Ava laid her head back on Hayden's shoulder an closed her eyes.  It took Devlin only two minutes to get home. He flashed through the door with lightening speed. He was standing in front of his wife an daughter before the door had a chance to close. Is she okay? Devlin asked as he put his hands on Hayden's hips softly. Hayden nodded. Yeah she fell asleep. She was very upset. Hayden said quietly. Devlin nodded and stepped back, taking a deep breath while looking up at the ceiling. When his eyes met Hayden's he gave her a small smile. So, what happened? He asked her softly. Hayden calmly walked towards their room and laid Ava down in their bed. After covering her up she walked back to Devlin. She knows where my parents are Devlin. She found them despite the spell keeping them hidden. She told me that she was more powerful than that blonde witch that spelled them. How would she know that? Hayden asked with her hands out in question. Devlin shrugged his shoulders. I don't know Beautiful, but we are going to find out. We need to find that witch that is working with your parents as well. Maybe she will have more answers? Devlin suggested. Hayden looked at the floor in thought. She was completely clueless an she didn't like it at all. She should have searched for answers before they all were in danger again. She should have known that this would all come back threefold. As long as our daughter is here, they won't stop coming. We got five years, but what have they been doing in that five years Devlin? What if they have just been watching and waiting? What if there are more of them on this property? I feel like we can't trust anyone now! What if they have gotten to all of them Devlin! Hayden yelled. She was about to lose her mind thinking of all that could happen. All the people that they could have converted to their cause. Hayden looked at Devlin wide eyed. He walked up to her quickly an pulled her against his chest. Hayden, they didn't get to all of them. I work with them every single day. I know Xavier an Charlie, Attica, Amony, a lot of them wouldn't do that. You are just nervous an you have every right to be. This is our daughters life at stake. We will figure this out okay. Attica hasn't put the wards up yet, but she will know if anyone besides one of ours crosses over. She said that you told her you needed some answers an that you needed your visions for a few days. Devlin explained. Hayden nodded then shook her head. I did tell her that, but, now we won't be here in a few days. We are going to go find my parents. Ava will show us the way. Hayden replied. Daddy! Your home! Ava yelled as she ran over to hug Devlin around the leg. Devlin let go of Hayden an turned an picked Ava up and gave her a big hug. I missed you Pumpkin. Did you miss me? Devlin asked her. Ava, rolled her eyes. Of course I missed you silly man! Ava yelled as she hugged Devlin around the neck. Devlin laughed an kissed her on the cheek. You are my silly girl. I am not a silly man! Devlin replied as he tickled her on her side. She started to giggle an squirm. Daddy! Stop! Ava said in between her laughter. Devlin stopped an gave her another kiss on the cheek an sat her back down on her own two feet. Did Mommy tell you Daddy! We are gonna go see Grandma an Grandpa!! Ava announced. Devlin knelt down and took Ava by the waist. Yes, Sweet Pea, Momma told me. I bet you are excited, aren't you? Devlin questioned with a smile on his face. Ava nodded an pulled baby up to her chest an squeezed tight. She never gave her baby doll a name, she just called her baby. Yes! I have seen them in my mind my whole life but this will be different. I am excited! Ava said as she bounced up and down. Devlin waited until she stopped an kissed her on the cheek. Okay, why don't you go ahead and head to bed. We will be getting up early to start our trip. Devlin suggested an Ava's face grew a weary look. Can I sleep with you an Mommy tonight? I'm scared the evil will come an get me! Ava cried. Devlin looked up at Hayden. Hayden nodded. Devlin looked back at Ava and stood up. He leaned down an picked her up. You sure can. Your Mother an I would never let anything happen to you Ava. We love you more than life itself. We wouldn't be able to go on if something happened to you. Devlin told her. Ava hugged Devlin around the neck. I never want to lose you are Mommy. Ava announced. Devlin laughed an Ava looked back into his eyes. Daddy, that is not funny! If we don't leave by tomorrow morning, I will lose both of you an the darkness will have me. I promise I would fight it for as long as I can but eventually it would take me. Ava said sadly. Devlin was shocked by his daughters choice of words. He sighed an laid Ava down on the middle of their bed. Ava, Sweetie, We will never let that happen. I swear on my life. Devlin said seriously. What happens when the evil shows up an we are not here? What happens to everyone else? Devlin didn't want to ask his five year old daughter this, but, he had to know. Ava looked at him sadly. If I am not here, The evil will leave. No one here will get hurt. He will just continue to search for me. Ava explained. Devlin turned an looked up at Hayden. We need to have Attica spell her so that he won't have a scent to follow. Devlin suggested. Hayden nodded her agreement. Ava looked up at her dad an then her mom, I love you both Mommy an Daddy, Goodnight, We have a long day tomorrow an we need to get up early so don't be too long getting to bed. Ava said all grown up like. Devlin and Hayden laughed an told her Goodnight. We love you as well Sweetie. We will be in bed in a few. Try to get some sleep. Devlin told her as he kissed her on the forehead and covered her up. Hayden walked over an turned out the beside lamp and then bent down to give her a kiss on the forehead as well. Ava already had her eyes closed, fast asleep. Hayden smiled and followed Devlin out of the room. Soon as she shut the bedroom door an turned around Devlin pulled her into a hug.  I can't believe she has to grow up to fast, we never wanted this for her. Devlin said as he hugged Hayden tight. I know my handsome man, We will get her out of this, we will get through this, an my parents are gonna show us how. Hayden said as she pulled back to look into Devlin's bright blue eyes. She gave him a small smile and he leaned in a kissed her passionately. She gave into the kiss, allowing herself to give into every inch of him. Feeling his body pressed against hers. She could feel his c**k get hard. She kissed him harder. Letting herself forget all of the bullshit that went on today. She was going to get lost in him an let this day slip away.
