When Oreste called, he found that his grandson's phone was switched off.
Oreste frowned and cursed, "What the hell? Where does this damn brat go?"
He dialed another number, and finally, someone answered. The old man quickly said, "Hello, Xavier. I'm at the intersection of William Street. Come pick me up!"
After hanging up, the old man looked at Dora. "Girl, you're so young. How did you learn acupuncture?"
Dora smiled. "My ancestors have been doctors for generations. I learned it when I was a kid."
Oreste nodded. "Awesome! Where do you work now?"
Dora thought for a while and responded, "Let's just say I work at the St. Mary Hospital."
"The Traditional Medicine department?"
Dora smiled. "Yeah, you can say that."
Oreste was amazed. "Girl, you're amazing!"
Dora chuckled. "Nah, not really. It just happens that I'm good at this stuff. Look at all those peeps on the street. They're all working hard at their own jobs."
Oreste had a better impression of her. "Fair enough! How old are you?"
Dora responded, "I'm twenty."
"It's the prime time of your life. Do you have a boyfriend?"
Dora laughed. "I'm gonna be single tomorrow."
Oreste was confused, but before he could ask anything else, his ride pulled up.
The driver rushed over and anxiously asked, "Are you okay, sir?"
Oreste was kind of annoyed that the drive came so soon because he still wanted to have a longer chat with Dora.
"I'm fine. This young girl saved me."
The driver bowed and thanked Dora. "Thanks a lot, Miss!"
Dora politely responded, "Don't mention it! But seriously, take him to the hospital for a proper checkup!"
...
It was an hour later when Flavio finally got out of the restroom. His phone was completely messed up from being soaked in the water for long. And if it weren't for him borrowing someone else's phone, he wouldn't have been able to get out yet.
Right after he got a brand new phone, he was told that his grandpa had a freaking heart attack.
Flavio was freaking out and just jumped into his car and headed straight to the hospital without dealing with Dora.
Flavio and his family had a crazy car accident eight years ago, where the others all died, and he was the only one who survived. The accident messed up his legs, and he couldn't feel them at all. But thank goodness his grandpa found an amazing doctor who healed him after making several attempts for years. But Flavio kept it on the down low and never leaked this secret out.
When Flavio was talking business, his cousin Qasim ran into him. Afraid that Oasim would find out that his legs were all good and healed, Flavio panicked and ran into the restroom to hide.
Then, Flavio ended up stuck in there for over an hour, thanks to Dora. He couldn't even come to his grandpa's rescue when his grandpa had a heart attack.
Flavio was really guilty and worried.
Once Flavio got out of his car, his assistant Lenell carried him, dropped him into a wheelchair, and wheeled him into the hospital.
Flavio asked, "My grandpa usually gets his treatment at St. Henry Hospital. Why does he come to St. Mary Hospital?"
Lenell responded, "Xavier said that it was your grandpa's request."
So they went up to the thirteenth floor in the elevator, and everyone started gossiping like crazy.
"Look! That's Mr. Beyond, man. He's so darn good-looking!"
"Yeah, but it's a pity that he's a cripple."
"Shh, keep it down! I heard Mr. Beyond is brutal and heartless. If you mess with him, you'll be doomed."
"Oh, and I heard he's got some dark secrets, always torturing women. He's just handsome. If you marry him, you'll be so done for."
Meanwhile, Dora walked out of her grandma Qirat's room and heard a group of nurses chattering away. She was curious and asked, "Yo, who are you talking about?"
A nurse came over and responded, "Dora, we're talking about Mr. Beyond."
Dora was confused. "Mr. Beyond? Who's that?"
The nurse responded, "Oh, it's Flavio, the young master from that top Beyond family in Hanover. He's super handsome and loaded."
Dora chuckled. "Seriously? Is that all you care about?"
The nurse curved her lips and said, "If there were a guy like Prathik chasing us, we wouldn't be drooling over anyone else."
Dora was speechless. What the hell?
"Prathik and I are just friends, okay? Don't make assumptions!"
And just as she said that a gentle voice came from afar. "Dora!"
"See? He's right here. That's definitely more than just friendship, don't you think?"
The nurses laughed and went back to their workstations.
Dora looked at the handsome guy coming over and joked, "Hey there, Mr. Inspections. You seem to be coming here a lot. Are you afraid we won't do our jobs unless you're around?"
Prathik glanced at her. "Don't judge me based on your own thoughts, alright? Your grandma is my teacher's wife. Can't I come and check on her?"
Dora laughed and followed him into the ward.
Qirat was dozing off but woke up when she heard the noise.
"Hello, Prathik!"
Prathik walked over and asked softly, "How are you feeling, Qirat?"
Qirat responded, "I'm good. Hey, Prathik, can you talk some sense into Aija? I want her to focus on her studies, but she never listens. You've arranged so many nurses to take care of me. I'm definitely fine, but she just comes over here all the time."
Prathik looked at Dora, who was still as relaxed as ever as if she hadn't heard a thing.
He couldn't help but smile. "She's your granddaughter. Of course, she's gonna come here. But don't worry, Dora's doing great in school. Plus, she only comes in the evenings. It won't mess with her studies!"
Qirat got anxious. "Nah, she's been here all freaking afternoon. I can't kick her out no matter what I do!"
And Dora chimed in, "Grandma, I didn't have any classes this afternoon!"
...
Flavio wheeled himself to the old man lying on the hospital bed on the 13th floor and anxiously asked, "Are you all right, Grandpa?"
Seeing him, Oreste couldn't help but ask, "Where the hell have you been you brat?"
Flavio didn't want to reminisce about the hour he spent in the restroom, so he brushed it off and said, "Grandpa, my phone died. Are you okay? Why'd you go out by yourself?"
Talking about that, Oreste started feeling a bit guilty. "The weather is nice, so I wanted to take a walk."
Flavio got serious and said, "You came out without any meds and didn't let anyone tag along? What were you thinking? What if something happened to you?"
Oreste defended himself, "I'm alright now."
Flavio wasn't having it. "Come on! That's because someone saved you, otherwise you would be doomed."
"I'm your grandpa. How can you talk to me like this?"
Flavio couldn't help but c***k a smile. "Well, it's all because you always act willfully."
The old man gave a little grunt but didn't argue further. His goatee shook in an arrogant manner.
Flavio mellowed out his tone a bit and asked, "So, who saved you?"
The old man got all excited and responded, "It was a girl. She's amazing, but damn, I forgot to ask her name."
He started regretting it and glared at Xavier, saying, "Why didn't you ask either?"
Xavier apologized, "Sorry, I was too anxious at that time."
The old man added, "But she's in this hospital, I think, in the Tradition Medicine department. Have someone ask about her. She's a really good-looking young girl."
Flavio agreed. "Okay, I'll track her down for you."
The old man continued, "Make sure to thank her properly. We don't see many people who're willing to step up and help others nowadays, especially some old guys like me who scare everyone off. Once you find her, bring her over!"
Flavio responded, "Sure thing."
