FROM THE SKY

Is that a scythe he was holding? What are these strange-looking clothes? Does he even have long hair? And what is this expression? Isn't this a little too attractive to a man? Colonel Yalang walked forward, a slew of unanswered questions rising in his mind as he fixed his gaze on the entire 18061819's body a few steps away from him. How will the young people know who they should be if they don't know who this one is? It was also for the first time for an old man like him to see someone capable of killing a monster who wasn't alone or part of a specific team. But he's no fool if he doesn't notice the abnormalities and disparities between the other and them, who appear to be weaker in the eyes if one would compare. The figure has turned around and met his old man's eyes for a moment, as if sensing the focus of others on him. "Hey...mate, it's time to go?" Colonel Yalang found himself losing his voice in the early tone when he noticed the pair of unusually colored eyes. Is this for real? What do you mean, red eyes? All he could think about as he struggled to keep his calm image from collapsing in front of the young people was "Right, you are right there, young man, your group has already moved onboard, what are you waiting for? Go in, and we will leave here right away." Turning to the other person, Deserell, who had just been halted from talking to 18061819 about going back with them or something, managed to give a puzzled look to the veteran military soldier who appeared next to them. "Sir, I'd like to speak with our savior first." "Of course, the young man appeared to be acquainted with this friend. "How about introducing us?" The Colonel, with an understanding smile on his old man's face, had the distinct impression that he was being ignored right there. Deserell didn't respond, redirecting the attention and saying to 18061819 once more. "Aren't you joining us?" Can we leave here together?" For it is another silence, and the pair of blank eyes was staring back at each other as it has always been, cold. 18061819 didn't respond to anything or whether he could even bother them. Now, at this very moment he could only feel the abnormal beating of his heart, that would account for its strange fast pacing beats—pulsing loudly one after another as if an urgent whisper was digging into his head; was there something important he needed to know, and must do at the next second. "You don't have to be..."the rest of Deserell's words had been entirely blocked out from an unexpected tremendous noise as something as resembling a lightning had all of a sudden shot down into the Earth's surface coming from the night sky, generating a following continuous vibrating shake to the surface for a few more seconds. Everyone had reacted instinctively on their own as they tried not to be caught along the harsh impact when the strong wind was going to blow everything away from its respective places, except for 18061819 that had only taken a few steps at his back after grabbing Deserell onto his embrace in order to protect him from being swept away. When the ground finally stopped shaking, they were greeted with an unexpected sight when they looked through the source, and there was a towering light penetrating through the ground coming from the sky. It appears to be a ray of light from heaven. Each one has been riveted by the fact that no words have been uttered. Others began to walk near the edge, hoping to get a better look at the unknown light that had brightened the entire land like it was daytime. From above, all eyes could see everything; an enormous military base was littered with signs of the tragedy and chaos that had occurred. It's a dreadful image that no one wants to remember. Deserell stepped away from 18061819 after waking up from his trance. He realized what the others were gazing at as he was going to say something, and dashed out to join the rest of the crowd, his mouth slowly left agape. "Are we dead that we can now see the heaven's gate?" 2LT Sia's uncalled-for joke earned him a death glare from Jane. 2LT Royle had no time for nonsense, as he irritatedly smacked the other's skull and sneered. "If you want to inspect the other side, I'll gladly push you now," he said, pausing to look at their Major General, who was carrying his brother on his back. "Neh, Major General, may we leave this spot now? I get a horrible sensation about this certain light; it doesn't feel quite proper and wrong to be here. I think it is better to leave as soon as possible." Sarpencia gave a firm nod. "Get everyone inside the aircraft, and we'll take off." Just one glance at the mysterious source of light is enough to convince them to leave; otherwise, if they stay here for too long, something horrible might happen and who knows the consequences is. Colonel Yalang has finally returned to Sarpencia's side after being blown to the other side. He has no surprised expression on his face, but he is not amused. "Is this a portal to another world?" says the old man. "Colonel, you're saying the same thing as the meat-head," 1LT Pena has found herself rolling her eyes. "Who do you think you're calling the meathead?" Inside the aircraft, 2LT Sia screamed back. "Of course, who else could it be but you?" 2LT Royle mumbled, as if announcing a fact. "You—bastard, you're inviting a brawl!" "As if you're going to beat me!" "You!" "Simply disregard them." 1LT Pena grumbled to the young researchers as she sat in her seat in front of her baby's control wheel, then instructed them. "Anyway, double-check that you've finally buckled up." Senior Lu and the others exchanged a nod. At the entrance, Yuheiyo realized that someone was still not inside, and when he turned to seek for him, he found the young man he had been calling an i***t standing near the edge, staring at the light. "Why are you still standing there, i***t? Get here now!" Deserell awoke from his stupor and looked at the voice calling to him, "Brother Yu?"
