RETREAT (2)

1404 Words
When 18061819 (Six) cast a look around, only the silence of being alone, and its wrecked aftermath remained with him. He stabbed the end of the blade on the ground. He stood still, cold, and quiet, as he condescendingly glanced at nothing in particular. Closing his eyes for a while, the ears are listening to every wall, each unfamiliar voice resounding behind his mind. By looking at him, no one can tell whether he was in a complicated mood or whether he regrets letting those people escape just so easily. When he opened his eyes once again, the bloodlust emotion was gone in a second, replaced with a blank look, and the surging blood running on his veins is now pulsing back to normal as the heart beats at its normal pace. All the wounds also healed, making his body back to the perfect state but not his tear-stained clothes. Picking up the blade again, he is ready to leave for his next destination. Before he could even take another step forward, there was a sudden noise of glass breaking apart. 18061819 (Six) stopped and walked with no thoughts toward a certain wall. Behind it, the source of the sound was there. Without thinking too much about it. 18061819 (Six) broke the wall using his blade despite the fact that there was a dedicated door at the corner. If only the group of scientists who are working on this site found out this, they might not know whether to laugh or cry. Stepping on the other side, there were no thoughts at all, but when 18061819 (Six) looked inside what greeted him, slight made a move on his eyes for a second. Right there. On the floor there laid a naked young man who had been bathed in an unknown liquid. The stench was strong enough to make other curl in the stomach. 18061819 (Six) attention didn't last at the unknown human body; instead, those blank eyes slightly wavered as he looked to the next row, one after another, and above each cylindrical container held a countless young people inside. Not just one, two, or five, but the containers go more than a hundred. It is without a doubt the shocking image and cold scenery that 18061819 (Six) saw for the second time of his life, and his voice he cannot help whispering, "What are they doing..." Inside the room at the other side, Yallen Len instantly lost his voice and couldn't breathe from what he just heard from the group right now, but after looking at them again, their avoiding eyes meant it. "It is a top secret experiment..."The man at his side said truthfully. Not explaining nor telling something really big, but all of what they informed him about this ungrounded facility has made Yallen Len feel that he might accidentally punch a person from any of them. They dared to lie to them. The organization lied to him, and he thought a group of dedicated colleagues from the similar profession was actually a part of an inhumane act. Another person murmured, "Why? Are you mad? Do you think we like to do this? We just become a tool for the Institute." "Tool?" Yallen Len raised his voice that stunned the other. "Tool? Are we a tool? Tool for what exactly! Have you ever thought what kind of tool you are! You're saying you're a tool who made those--beasts outside running rampant, maybe even devouring the remaining survivors of our base!" He clenched his fist and gritted his teeth harshly. "Maybe even the rescuers might not be able to survive either..." The other was nervous," How many other stations were sent to us?" The quiet person who does not speak from the beginning joined suddenly, " Station 21 was now attacked, and the other nearest stations are probably all evacuated or heavily guarded by their soldiers now. Only the Central Base will decide what would happen to us, and so, to conclude, the rescuer you are saying is maybe it was from the nearest base, but the person you come up with...is not the normal human we think right." Yallen Len didn't want to speak, but he solemnly nodded, and then sat again as he was standing in shock earlier. He said to the wanting people with a mocking smirk, "Why doesn't he look like a scary one?" He has red eyes...a scythe of death. Another man said with a sullen face, "Of course he is, how can you not be scared of a person who has red eyes? Normal humans don't have that, we are either black, brown, grey, green, blue or others, but red. That is pure evil. It looks like a white-eyed wolf of mankind. How can they become our rescuer, and didn't you see those who showed to us? Aliens. The f-cking aliens with white skin and red eyes! They forced our soldiers to commit suicide and laugh like the most evil kind!" Yallen Len sneered, "Yes, I appreciate your ability to open your eyes and tell lies without blushing. As if you care about our soldiers or anyone in this station, aren't you here in this place when the chaos began and hiding like a cowards dog whose tail is behind their backs!" "You! You have no right to say that to us!" "Yes, we just don't want.." "Don't want to die, I can see that." His voice became colder than before, and he gave a look at the few seniors he once admired when coming to this place. Even so, he is still a human being with the conscience, knows what's right or wrong, and the three views are still perfectly intact. He turned around, planning to leave these idiots. Who only knows to eat with the stomach in their mind first, waiting to be rescued. By those unnamed soldiers who especially come into this place and disregarding their lives at the unknown beast roaming the island, which was created by these cold-blooded humans who call themselves scientist. "Junior, where are you going?" A woman yelled at him back. "To find a way to leave this island." His reply only meant to give a last face to the lover of a soldier he once became his friend, and that friend had died from the battle he cannot even stand with. At this time he plans to find that figure and maybe go with him if the other would not kick him to death. Leaving the group is not meant Yallen Len can just walk out if he likes to because there are others who actually have no interest in dying miserably here either, and they have held their opinions for quite some time. Those who did not participate in sudden emotional drama when the truth of those beasts and the monster roaming on the surface was revealed quickly stepped out to go after him. "Wait! We're coming with you." The man with a matured face wearing bloodied laboratory clothes courageously uttered, not even afraid of the other will refuse him. Yallen Len turned around, meeting the middle-aged man's eyes without any hint of agreement. Without a doubt, his answer should be refusal. As though the older one can hear the word "No", he had to speak immediately to sell themselves. "I know the way round here, and it also meant the exit back to the surface." Does this old man think he doesn't know when they came in? Though he only has the idea this hidden ground is supposed to be a kind of evacuation area when the station meets a big problem like now, this is the first time he has really come down here. So when this old man had spoken to him like this, he could see the use because he might be lost in a while or have missed the chance to cross with that figure. Tch. It is a problem, and having these people at his back is also a problem. But, then he suddenly remembered something in his mind. He put up a nod to the other, ready to walk away with four people behind his back. However, there are reluctant eyes not wishing to be left behind, and said to them. "Go to die yourself?...Are you crazy? Why not wait here? I'm sure the rescuer will come to us later."
