Chapter 6

Mr. Lee silently repeated to himself, "This can't be real," but such self-comfort didn't convince him. Cold sweat dripped down Mr. Lee's forehead, and his legs trembled; he could barely stand. After a moment, he finally couldn't hold it in anymore and repeatedly bowed to Jacob, saying, "I was wrong. I do know my fault now! I won't dare anymore!" "Then get out of here!" Jacob yelled, "If I see you again, I won't let you leave alive!" "I'm leaving right now!" Mr. Lee, terrified, scrambled to his feet and ran away. Mr. Lee jumped into his sedan and fled in a panic. Just then, his phone rang; it was a call from Ted. "Mr. Lee, how did it go with Zac?" Ted asked on the other end. "Don't even mention it!" Mr. Lee cursed, "The men I brought all got beaten up!" Ted sounded annoyed and said, "How many people did you bring? Didn't you think to bring more?" Mr. Lee, humiliated and furious, shouted, "Don't call me anymore! Let's just forget this." "You're really not gonna pursue this?" Ted said in shock, "You were impotent because of Zac, and you're just gonna let it go? Mr. Lee, I didn't think you'd be so cowardly!" "What do I have to fight him with? Do you know who they are..." Mr. Lee stopped mid-sentence and suddenly got it. 'This is all your fault. You got me into trouble with someone so ruthless. I won't warn you, so you can suffer too.' Mr. Lee changed his tone and said, "Mr. Harper, I was scared after getting beaten. If you have the ability, go fight Zac yourself." With that, Mr. Lee hung up the phone. Ted put down his phone and said helplessly to Frank, "That useless Mr. Lee got beaten again; he says he's too scared to mess with Zac. I didn't expect Zac to be so tough." Frank scoffed, "What good is being tough? This isn't a battlefield. You take a few men there and try to get him to strike first. I'll contact Mr. Alfred in advance, and we can catch Zac red-handed." Ted nodded knowingly and immediately took a few men to the factory in the west city. "Mr. Harper!" The workers greeted Ted as he entered, but inside, they felt nothing but disdain. Ted strutted over to Taylor and asked with a smile, "Taylor, my dad asked me to check on you. Do you need any help?" Taylor replied, "Please thank him for me. Although the machinery at this branch is a bit outdated, the workers are experienced and skilled. I can definitely finish the task on time." "That's good to hear." Ted grinned, then turned to Zac and said, "Can we talk privately?" Zac followed Ted to the side. Ted suddenly asked with a sleazy expression, "Have you and Taylor moved in together?" As he spoke, he glanced back at Taylor and continued, "Wow, Taylor has a hot body. You really got lucky. You're a bum like who only knows how to fight and make trouble. How dare you marry her?" Zac exuded a chilling aura; his gaze was sharp as a knife, seemingly freezing the air. Ted felt a chill shoot up his spine and quickly shut his mouth, staring at Zac in fear as if he were a cold-blooded grim reaper. "Bang!" With a loud crash, Zac kicked Ted, sending him flying around 30 feet away. Ted hit the ground and spat out blood. Zac quickly approached, stepping on Ted's chest, his voice thick with killing intent. "You should be grateful she's still associated with your Harper family, or you'd be dead today." "Ah! He's killing me, he's killing me!" Ted yelled, rolling around on the ground. "I was just talking to you nicely, and you suddenly attacked me. You're crazy; you really are a dangerous person!" Taylor rushed over, confused about why a fight had suddenly broken out. Hearing Ted's words and seeing Zac's cold expression, she knew it was definitely Ted who had started the trouble. Taylor grabbed Zac's arm and said, "Zac, stop fighting. Listen to me; just let him go." Zac lifted his foot, and Ted hurriedly crawled out, pointing at Zac and snapping, "So many people saw you attack me. You're finished; I'll make you pay for this!" Taylor angrily shouted, "Ted, shut your mouth! Tell me, what did you say to Zac just now?" Seeing Ted silent, she turned to Zac and asked, "What exactly did he say to make you so angry?" Zac looked down at Taylor and replied calmly, "It's nothing." Soon, a middle-aged man in uniform rushed in and shouted, "I received a report that someone is committing violence here. Where is he?" Zac had already seen through their tricks and scoffed to himself. 'These people are such terrible actors! No one has even called the police, and they just barge in here.' "Mr. Alfred, it was him who hit me. So many people saw it!" Ted pointed at Zac and complained to Mr. Alfred. As Mr. Alfred approached, Zac recognized him and felt a surge of anger welling up inside. A day ago, Rabbit had reported to Zac about the clues he found. It turned out that Zac's parents were framed for selling medical waste, leading the police to collect evidence and seal the company. In the end, the company was acquired at a low price by Radiant Group. After this incident, the chairman of Radiant Group, Marquis Grimston's daughter, married the son of a high official. Rabbit also showed Zac a photo; that man was the police officer who led the team to collect evidence and seal the company at that time. At that moment, Mr. Alfred, who stood in front of Zac, was the same corrupt cop from the photo. Mr. Alfred waved his hand and ordered the officers, "Take this man away!" "Let him go! I need to call my lawyer right now!" Taylor panicked and rushed forward to stop them. This was her first time dealing with a situation like this. Zac gently patted her shoulder and calmly said, "Don't worry. I'll be fine." Taylor became even more anxious and urged, "Zac, promise me you won't do anything! They're cops; if you make a move, it's over for you!" Two officers approached and forcefully grabbed Zac's arms. Zac looked at them with a cold gaze, forged through brushes with death, combined with the authority he had accumulated from his high position, giving his look a terrifying power. Just one glance instantly intimidated the two officers, causing them to loosen their grip. "I'll walk myself," Zac said lightly. He then turned to Taylor and comforted her. "You focus on handling the orders at the factory. I'll be back soon." After saying that, Zac strode out of the factory. He planned to pretend to cooperate for now because he didn't want to resort to violence in front of Taylor. More importantly, Zac wanted to take these three to a secluded place for thorough questioning. He was determined to uncover the truth behind his parents' deaths. When they reached the factory entrance, Rabbit was already standing by the police car. "Take him away!" Zac barked. After that, he continued to walk forward with his hands behind his back. "Where are you going? Did I give you permission to leave?" Mr. Alfred shouted angrily. "Who do you think you're taking?" "Stop! You don't have the right to leave!" Two officers stepped forward and grabbed Zac by the shoulders. Zac didn't even look back, continuing to walk. Rabbit swiftly kicked out twice, knocking the two officers onto the car. "You dare assault an officer!" Mr. Alfred shouted. He yelled as he reached for his waist. Just then, Jacob drove an SUV and blocked everyone's path. Three agile figures jumped out of the SUV, moving swiftly and efficiently to subdue the three men, pushing them into the car. Before Mr. Alfred and his team could react, the SUV and the black sedan sped away. Meanwhile, Ted, who was hiding nearby to watch, pulled out his phone to call Frank, "Dad, it's bad! Call for backup. Zac has somehow brought a bunch of thugs and taken Mr. Alfred and the others!"
