The two cars sped down the highway, quickly leaving the city. In the car, Mr. Alfred and his two subordinates were bound and squeezed into the back seat.
"I'm warning you for the last time—if you don't wanna die, let us go right now!" Mr. Alfred threatened with a fierce glare. "If you dare to assault an officer, I'll make sure you spend your lives in prison."
"He's too noisy; make him quiet," Zac told Jacob without looking back.
Jacob Reed slammed the brakes suddenly, causing the three in the back to bang their heads against the seats due to inertia. Jacob turned around and slapped Mr. Alfred twice across the face. Instantly, two red handprints appeared on Mr. Alfred's cheek.
"You've got a death wish for hitting Mr. Alfred! I swear I'll chop off your hand later!" one officer shouted.
"Looks like you guys enjoy getting beaten, so I'll oblige," Jacob said, raising an eyebrow with a mocking smile.
Saying that, Jacob got out of the car, opened the back door, and dragged the three out onto the ground, giving them a good beating. Jacob kept going until they could only groan, then tossed them back into the car.
Jacob continued driving and finally stopped in front of the entrance to Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Alfred and his two subordinates were brought to a tombstone. Although they were bruised and battered, they still looked arrogant.
"Zac, you'll regret this. When your pretty fiancée becomes a widow, I'll take care of her for you. Hahaha!" Mr. Alfred laughed lewdly after finishing his sentence.
Jacob couldn't stand it any longer and kicked Mr. Alfred hard in the stomach. Mr. Alfred screamed in pain, curling up on the ground, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
Zac stood with his hands behind his back and slowly said, "I'll ask you once. If you don't answer honestly, you won't get another chance to speak."
Zac gazed at the portrait of his parents on the tombstone and asked, each word deliberate, "Tell me, why did my parents commit suicide by jumping into the lake?"
Upon hearing this, Mr. Alfred immediately looked up and asked, "Are you Sam's son, a loser who went into the military?"
Realizing Zac's identity, Mr. Alfred and his subordinates' attitudes hardened again. Mr. Alfred threatened, "You're abusing your power and targeting law enforcement. Listen, your death is coming soon!"
Another officer chimed in, "You'd better release us immediately, or Mr. Alfred might show you some leniency!"
Zac turned his head and coldly looked at them, saying, "Do you think I'll get caught and sentenced?"
Mr. Alfred shouted, "Zac, just wait to go to jail!"
"Arrest me? Who dares to do that!" Zac's voice was calm but carried an undeniable authority. "If I reveal my identity, do you really think I'm just bluffing?"
At that moment, Rabbit walked over, holding a coat and stepping confidently toward them.
As Rabbit approached, Jacob and the three soldiers stood at attention, paying respect to the coat.
Mr. Alfred and his men were puzzled, wondering why there was so much fuss over just a coat.
Then, Rabbit unfolded the coat. The base color was pure white, with yellow epaulets and tassels on the shoulders, and bright red cuffs.
Rabbit draped the coat over Zac's shoulders and carefully tied it for him.
A gust of wind blew, causing the coat to flutter, and the golden unicorn embroidered on the back came to life, exuding a powerful aura. Zac, already tall and imposing, looked even more distinguished and regal in the coat, radiating an overwhelming presence.
"So, do you still think the same?" Zac looked at Mr. Alfred and the others, his tone calm.
"A five-star general's uniform?" Mr. Alfred and the others were stunned, unable to believe it.
Even though they were just minor players, they recognized this uniform. There were only five people in Draconia who could wear it.
Zac rarely wore this magnificent coat. He put it on now, not to show off in front of Mr. Alfred and his men, but to honor his parents' spirits.
Zac looked at the tombstone and said softly, "Mom and Dad, I'm now a five-star general. Can you see me? Didn't you always hope I'd achieve something? You haven't seen me get married and have kids; how could you bear to leave me?" As he spoke, his voice caught in his throat. He took a deep breath and fiercely declared, "Don't worry, Mom and Dad; I won't let anyone who hurt you get away."
Then, Zac turned to Mr. Alfred and the others and said, "Now do you still think I have no authority to arrest you? Answer my questions honestly!"
"General, please spare us! We were just following orders to search the Willis Group; we never harmed Mr. and Mrs. Willis!" The three of them hurriedly apologized, pleading for mercy. "We really don't know how Mr. and Mrs. Willis died!"
"General, we were wrong. Please spare our lives!" Mr. Alfred started to slap himself in the face repeatedly.
Zac, seeing he couldn't get any more information, waved his hand and said in disgust, "Someone! Take these three back to the military for questioning. They need some extra help to remember."
The faces of Mr. Alfred and the others instantly turned pale. As soon as the order was given, the soldiers stepped forward and dragged them away.
"Continue the investigation!" Zac shouted, clenching his fists.
"Yes, sir!" Rabbit replied, putting away Zac's coat before heading out.
Just as Zac was about to leave with his men, several vehicles suddenly blocked their path. As the doors opened, a group of burly men in police uniforms jumped out.
Zac's sharp gaze swept over the crowd, finally landing on the shoes of the burly men. He noticed they all wore leather shoes, but each style was different. Zac instantly saw through their identities—these were fake police officers.
A middle-aged man, with an air of authority, got out of one of the vehicles, and walked over with several burly men surrounding him. He fixed his gaze on Zac and said harshly, "We received a report of an assault on a police officer. Everyone get down and put your hands on your heads!"
Zac snorted and asked, "Which police station are you from? Show me your badge."
"Cut the crap! Beat him up hard; if he dies, bury him here!" Mr. Alfred, lying on the ground, yelled as soon as he saw reinforcements arrive.
At Mr. Alfred's words, the burly men revealed their vicious faces, drawing machetes from their waists and charging at Zac and Jacob.
Such a scene was enough to scare an ordinary person into submission.
Jacob remained unfazed and stepped forward to shield Zac. Zac, however, stood with his hands behind his back, looking calm and indifferent.
The burly men closed in, now less than ten steps away from Zac. With a few "click" sounds, the doors of two parked SUVs suddenly swung open, and ten men burst out.
Eight of them surrounded Zac, protecting him in the middle, while only two advanced to confront the attackers.
The two men faced the twenty burly attackers without losing ground. Their movements were quick and precise, landing hits with deadly accuracy. The ones struck by them fell to the ground and couldn't get back up.
In less than a minute, all twenty burly men lay motionless on the ground.
Meanwhile, on a distant hillside, Ted, holding binoculars, was stunned. His mouth hung open as he didn't know what to do. Suddenly, his phone in his pocket rang.
"Did the people we sent deal with Zac?" Frank asked on the phone, his tone oozing with smugness.
"Dad, we underestimated them. Our people were all taken down by Zac's men," Ted replied, feeling deflated. "Those guys might also be veterans; they're quite skilled."
"So what if they're skilled?" Frank scoffed, his voice dripping with malice. "Not only am I going to take down Zac today, but I also won't let any of these veterans leave alive!"
