It was less than the amount we'd requested, but enough to fund the accessible path and the first phase of the potting shed restoration. They would pay in installments after the work was completed. The money would not solve the loan problem, but it would help.
The board chair, Mrs. Pell, called me herself. "You gave us a careful plan," she said. "We liked that you didn't pretend the property could do everything at once."
