I strode back inside the mansion with the file in my hand.
Oh yes, I had gotten what I wanted, but I didn’t know how I was going to hand this to Zane.
At that moment, I wrestled with doubts about working with him, but at the edge of my mind, I couldn’t silence the thought that I needed the money.
If I didn’t get it, I would remain trapped here forever, and that was the last thing I wanted.
And Anna, she hurled rounds of questions at me, yet I couldn’t respond.
Believe me, I didn’t want to keep my best friend in the dark, but this was something I wasn’t ready to confess.
