Half of the kids disappeared shortly after the big man left, the others stayed to "guard" me. All twelve of them were back by the time I was ready to close up the library. I considered my car out back. There was no way I could fit them all in, but it wasn't that far of a walk to my house, maybe a mile or two. I'd walked it before, it took me about thirty minutes. But did we need to be concerned about the big man confronting us again?
