Chapter 49 Reception, Cutting The Cake
Shortly after Nerissa finished signing, Queen Chloris approached their table with a bright smile. She signs to Joe and Bryan, "Welcome to the family." Queen Chloris is adorned in a long, form-fitting green dress, similar in style to Queen Ametysta's attire. Joe and Bryan both sign their thanks with a nod.
Queen Chloris then turns to Nerissa and signs, "I haven't missed cutting the cake yet, have I?" She uses the same sign that Nerissa used earlier, and this time Joe assumes it means "cake" with more certainty. Nerissa grins back and signs, "No, but we are definitely ready. Can we have it brought out now?" She signs to her mother.
"Yes, absolutely!" Queen Chloris motions to the maids and signs, asking them to retrieve the cake.
