Emma POV I was consumed by desire, my senses overwhelmed by the magnetic pull of Clay. In these moments, being with him was an escape from reality, a respite from the chaos of the outside world. As he pinned me down, I could feel the heat of his body against mine, the weight of his presence enveloping me. My goddess, I wouldn't mind having this man all the time. Every touch, every caress was like a symphony of sensations on my skin. His hands, firm yet gentle, sent shivers down my spine with every stroke. His possessiveness, his desire to claim me completely, radiated from his grip, intertwining with his words of lust and love that he whispered in my ear. I reveled in the exquisite torment he bestowed upon me, teetering on the edge of madness before he finally took me. The anticipation built, my body yearning for him to fill me completely. And when he did, it was sheer ecstasy. Each movement he made ignited a cascade of fireworks within me, intensifying with every thrust. I relished the way he yearned to possess me, his desire evident in the intense gaze of his eyes. The warmth of his body enveloped me as he drew me closer, his touch leaving a trail of tingling sensations on my skin. The room was filled with the intoxicating scent of our combined passion, a heady mix of sweat and desire. The sound of our fervent lovemaking echoed through the air, a symphony of moans and gasps that only we could create. I could feel his heart pounding against my chest, synchronizing with the rhythm of our bodies as we moved as one. His grip on me tightened, his fingers digging into my flesh, as he expertly guided our entwined bodies towards ecstasy. Waves of pleasure crashed over me, eliciting a primal scream from deep within my throat. In that moment, our lips met in a desperate, consuming kiss, sealing our connection. Our bodies remained locked together, unwilling to let go, as he whispered softly against my ear, expressing his longing to hold me forever, to protect me from the realities of the morning was sure to bring. Once we finally calmed down, we lay together. I ran my hand gently across his warm skin, my fingers tracing every contour and feeling the strength of his muscles beneath them. The touch sent shivers down my spine, and I couldn't get enough of him. Every now and then, our lips would meet again, igniting a fiery passion between us. His kisses left a tingling sensation on my skin, a delightful mix of pleasure and desire. "Tomorrow," he finally murmured against me. "Promise me you won't just jump into danger," he said. "I know you have to go, I know I don't understand all of your responsibilities as the lycan princesses, but you have them. But promise me you are coming back to me, Emma." I could feel his warm breath on my skin. Nestled against his strong chest, I could feel the steady beat of his heart beneath my cheek, a comforting rhythm amidst the chaotic world. Inhaling deeply, his scent enveloped me. Inara, purred with delight, reveling in the incredible sensation of being with our mate. "I promise I'll come back," I said. His grip tightened around me, his muscles taut beneath my touch. "I've lost all who matter to me, Emma," he confessed, his voice tinged with a raw vulnerability. "Every night when I closed my eyes, all I could see was red, all I could feel was anger and the need for vengeance. No one has ever calmed that until you. Yet, the moment I met you, wanting you, wanting to know you, be with you, that started to replace the anger. When I close my eyes, I think of you, and now, I relish in the fact that I have you. I can't lose you." "You won't," I promised. I could feel his pain right now as if it were my own. The weight of his sorrow hung in the air, suffocating and heavy. I wished I could bring his family back to him, knowing how difficult it must be for him to face this loss. "When all is settled here, I'll have to return to the kingdom," I said, breaking the silence. "Are you comfortable leaving this realm behind? We can still come visit and all." His eyes met mine for a moment, searching for answers. "I've never felt at home here," he confessed. His voice was soft, almost a whisper. I could sense his longing for something more. "Will I be able to find work in your realm?" "Yes, my family will help you get work within the kingdom. It's different from everything you've experienced here. We've implemented some human ways as well. I think you will like it." I responded. "My brother is to become the king someday, so I never need to worry about taking on that responsibility.’ I explained. “Yet, I'll always want to aid and I will always need to stand as their princess. I want to make my parents proud but also ensure that all they have worked for is never destroyed." I admitted. "I'm sorry you did not have much of a chance in college," he said, his eyes filled with empathy. "I can tell how dedicated you are to your life and your family, Emma," he continued, his voice filled with admiration. "Not just that, I could also tell how much you liked the classes. I feel bad you can't finish them, just as I feel bad you can't be with the friends you made. I hated most students there, in honesty. Yet Melody and Kris, they were not bad." I nodded, a mixture of gratitude and regret washing over me. "Yes, they were kind. But I should have spaced myself. It is my relationship with them that landed them in this mess," I admitted. "You can't blame yourself," he said softly, his voice soothing and comforting. "We will find a way to help them," he reassured me."I'll do as much as I can," he continued, his words spoken with heartfelt sincerity. I could feel his unwavering support and commitment. A yawn escaped me, a sign of the weariness that was slowly overtaking me. Despite my desire to stay awake and continue our conversation, sleep was calling me. "Rest now, Emma," he whispered, his voice a soothing lullaby. I nestled closer to him, feeling the gentle rise and fall of his chest as I found solace in his embrace. The warmth of his body against mine provided a cocoon of comfort, as if his presence was a protective shield. In that moment, I realized that I had found someone who made me feel safe and loved. Even though I was considered the stronger one, it was in his arms that I truly felt strength and security. As sleep finally claimed me, I knew that he would be there for me when I awoke, ready to face the challenges of a new day together. __________ I was abruptly awoken from my sleep by a series of thunderous bangs that echoed through the room. Startled, I muttered, "No," realizing that we had to leave soon. My brother's voice pierced through the door, urging us to hurry. As I glanced at the clock, my heart raced - I had a mere thirty minutes to get ready. I reluctantly left the warm embrace of the bed, feeling a pang of longing as I tore myself away from Clay. I was never one for staying in bed all day, but Clay made it hard. Inara's voice echoed in my mind, whispering, "It's new love. Everything about him makes us crazy." As I turned the water on, the sound of the rushing water filled the bathroom, creating a soothing melody. I stepped into the shower quickly, feeling the warm water cascading down my body, relieving the tension in my muscles. I couldn't help but steal glances at the door, hoping that Clay would join me, but he never did. When I finished and returned to the bedroom. Clay sat on the bed, dressed in his boxers, his presence making my heart race. "You never came in," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. A mischievous smirk appeared on his face, causing my cheeks to flush with embarrassment. "Missed me already?" he teased. I quickly wrapped a towel around my body, feeling its softness against my damp skin, and rummaged through one of my bags for an outfit. As I made my way back towards the bathroom, Clay's voice interrupted my thoughts. "Shy all of a sudden?" he asked, his playful tone making my cheeks grow even warmer. "No, I just know that if I get dressed here, I may end up back in bed again," I replied. Clay chuckled, his deep laughter filling the room. "Good point," he agreed. Before I could step into the bathroom, he continued speaking. "I'm not one who typically sits around, and I've been doing a lot of that, granted I'm your prisoner and all." I paused, turning to face him, my expression filled with determination. "You are not my prisoner, Clay. Nor do I want you to say 'slave'. You may have the mark, but at this point, it is simply protection to keep you with me. That is all. You're my mate, you accepted my mark, and you're a part of my family now," I stated firmly. Silence hung in the air for a moment before Clay finally spoke, his voice tinged with vulnerability. "It's funny. Skade used to say we were family as well, all the hunters. Yet, those words never felt real. But out of your mouth, they warm me," he admitted. The tough exterior that Clay often portrayed melted away, revealing his true vulnerability. And that was one of the reasons I loved him, like a protective and loyal puppy dog. "I'm happy," I said, a smile lighting up my face. "I can't replace your parents or your sister, Clay," I continued, my voice filled with genuine sincerity. "But what I can offer you is my family. They are like pillars of strength." "My mother and father, you can look up to them as parents if you wish," I added, my voice tinged with excitement. "They are some of the strongest souls you will ever meet. And then there's my brother, who will treat you as a sibling." "For the rest of whom I consider family, Bryn and Flint, as well as their child," I continued, my voice filled with affection. "And let's not forget Leo, his mate, and their children. You will meet them all, and you will see how we all fit together, like puzzle pieces." "You won't be sitting around, trust me," I assured him, my voice laced with anticipation. "Bryn, Flint, and Jennifer will keep you busy. And today, Flint will work on training with you. He will teach you more about our kind, and he'll be grateful for any knowledge you share with him too." As he stood up and came to the bathroom door, I saw the reflection of my own excitement in his eyes. "Don't worry," he said, his voice filled with reassurance. "I won't start anything. I simply want to be with you, that's all. You're different, Emma, in a very good way. Your heart is pure and strong, it's no wonder every man at the college wanted you." I shook my head, a soft laugh escaping my lips. "No, most saw me as strange for my hair," I replied. As he ran his fingers through the wet strands, a shiver of pleasure ran down my spine, the sensation sending a wave of warmth and contentment through me. "Far from it," he said, his voice filled with admiration, "I know you know you're beautiful, for your confidence in yourself shines. Yet, I still don't think you realize just how stunning you are." "I think humans see me as average. However, I like and consider myself beautiful. I'm not the pencil-thin, perfect, perky-boobed, big-assed girl." I laughed, which made him smile. "No, you're natural and absolutely perfect," he whispered as he pushed my towel off me. His hand gently ran against my skin. "So perfect," he confessed, "I can't keep my hands or eyes off you." As we made our way into the bathroom, the tiles felt cool beneath my feet. I could hear the sound of water cascading down as he showered, steam filling the room. I quickly towel-dried my hair, the soft fabric rubbing against my damp strands. Clay was still in the shower when I was done. "I'll see you later, have a good day," I said, my voice slightly shaky with nerves. "Be safe, Emma," he responded, his words providing a sense of comfort. As I left, the anticipation of the day ahead weighed on me, but I knew I was ready.
