I don’t intend to tell the Angel of Revolutions about the fourth deposit in my bank statement of personal activities during the Yemeni Revolution, from when I was a student in Aden. It’s more trivial than the previous three.

In the early seventies, I was a delegate to the Democratic Youth Federation of Yemen’s first party conference for the Sheikh Othman and Surrounding Neighbourhoods Branch. The conference aimed to unite three separate sections of youth across the nation. (These later formed one ruling party: the Yemeni Socialist Party, ‘whose voice rose above the rest.’)
The conference passed fairly uneventfully, albeit the last time it did so.
