THE INVISIBLE RIVER It’s more than an urban legend – the Poltva. In Polish it goes by the name Peltew. It’s always confused by typesetters and proofreaders from other parts of Ukraine, because they read the town and region of “Poltava” there, since they’ve never heard of the river – or seen it. It is, it exists as a river, just one you can’t see, and one that Nicholas felt might be a good spot to look for one of the signs of the lion. Its source is hundreds of natural springs since Lviv lies right on the watershed boundary to Europe. It runs from the train station underneath the Opera House.
