As she went, she was vividly conscious of his footsteps following her. The sun was no longer as strong as it had been during the afternoon and Larina realised that it was growing late. Everything still had that transparent luminance and once they were in the boat she could see that the mountains above the cliffs were even bluer than they had been before.
