Chapter 23
All the way to the hospital, Ted was wondering what to tell Cole. He felt he had let him down. Knowing him, Ted knew there would be no recriminations, but he felt that there should be. Retirement seemed a much more real possibility now. Some mistakes were made and he was responsible, there was no getting away from that fact. He should have backed off and waited for reinforcements. His experience should have been enough, he screwed up bad. He knew that in this business, you cannot lose your edge.
As soon as he walked into the Emergency entrance, he found Sullivan pacing.
Jerking his head around, Sullivan moved quickly to Ted's side. “Are you alright, you don't look good.” Taking Ted by the arm, “Come and sit down.”
