Chapter 27 He set himself up outside, across the street from the house. They hadn't returned yet, just as hoped. Wishing he had spent more time at the gun range only helped grow the anxiety. This was going to be a tough one, total focus and a good plan was critical. He had one and hoped it would be enough. One mistake or hesitation could set him on a path he abhorred and prison was not an option. He settled down behind a large gray bolder that radiated more cold than he was prepared for. He thought he had dressed warm enough, L.L. Bean boots and hooded camo parka. The cold however was creeping in through his faded blue jeans. After about twenty minutes with the temperature hovering around zero, he was beginning to think this was a mistake. Maybe another time at a different place
