Her master once told her that she could do anything she wanted, have anything she every wanted, and be anything she ever wanted. At one point she believed in him whole heartedly. He never betrayed her, never dared to destroy the foundation of their relationship— after all they were mates. that didnt seem to stop him though.
She was taught that her kind were mated forever, much like shifters. She was taught that there would be nothing that could ever break the bond between the mated bond of vampires. She found out how bad of a lie that was.
There was nothing to save those two souls once she found them in the same bed. Her petite little fingers were entiwined in his hair, and a leg was wrapped around one of his as the sheets barely covered the two of them.
Before then, she never would have would have harmed a fly. It wasn’t in her nature. Something about the way he held that woman enraged the darkest and deepest parts of her wrath. What she did that day to them was unspeakable.
Unfortunately, there were consequences to killing your creator. She was blinded by an undying bloodlust. She couldn't control herself. Once the sweet, coppery taste of life touched her lips, there was no end to her bloody desires.
There were points in time where she grew tired of her hunger, she forced herself into a slumber. She wpuld rise on occasion to see how the world had rebirthed itself. She would train herself as best as she could to banish away the enraged beast inside her, starving it. She’d go back into slumber and awaken again.
At one point, she remembered tasting the blood of french noblemen and women when their heads where cut from their bodies. She would dispose of their bodies only to get a taste of what political blood had to offer. It was delectable.
In another life, she remembered training in ancient temples, meditating herself into peace. She learned to control the beast, learned to harnest its strength.
The thirst was their but it did not control her. Rae had to remember that. She had to remember that she was in control.
As she gazed down at the sea of delicious men and women, there was a gnawing pain filling her very being. She could tell which of the auction assets would sell, and which ones were going to stay. Rae knew what people liked, it was her job to know.
Something was off about the crowd. This set actually aroused her from her meditation. It caused two women to fight with one another, and forced her to separate them. Rae had to fight the urge to rip them apart and drain them dry.
She was sure she had impressed the guards. Rae owed them after what she did to their captain. She was surprised to hear that he even got out of bed.
Next to succubus, vampires were one of the most notoriously s****l beings. s*x was one of the many ways that some of her kind fed, and was the best ways for them to gain loyalty amongst masses. Sleep with a vampire, and you’ll be going back to give more. And more.
Rae shifted from side to side. She was uncomfortable. Chains irritated her, and bruised her skin. She was in no condition to self heal. She didnt have enough energy for it.
It had been a while since the auctioner had let her hunt. She was weak, practically shaking. She wouldn’t be able to show herself off, and the auctioner used that against her. He knew that she was weak, and preferred to keep it that way.
Rae was easier to control when she was weak. He could get her to do whatever he wanted when she was weak, all because he promised her blood. And she only got it when she was able to hunt down some poor bastard and rip out his throat. She was used to the dirty work, as long as it paid her.
She had to be careful though. With violence came the chance of her awakening the bloodlust again, and that was the last thing that she wanted to do.
Niko couldn’t keep his eyes off of her. She was downright gorgeous. She held his attention from the moment he laid his eyes upon her.
The longer he had to watch her subtle movements, the more he realized that thise movements weren’t subtle. She was shaking and pale. She didn’t look like she could hold herself up much more, and it was infuriating him.
How could these people neglect such a fine woman? How could they let her wither away? She didn’t need to be treated like trash. She needed to be treated like the goddess she appeared to be.
Niko braced himself as he slowly approached the front of the stage. She was ushered to the center, and for the briefest moment, those silver eyes met his again. Oh, had the life in them been drained. She looked close to death.
His hands fisted so hard, he felt like his bones would bust through the skin. Niko had to stiffle a growl.
“This beautiful woman, is a sub above par, vampire. Loyal, garceful, but stubborn to the core. If you can afford the proper price, she just might be yours,” the auctioner spoke into the mocrophone. His squeamish voice echoed through speakers all around the foyer. “She’s been my loyal pet for a few decades now, and is easy to control.”
The more this bastard talked the more Niko wanted to burn him alive.
“How do you control a vampire?” A woman in the audience called out.
“Starve them, of course,” the auctioner replied.
Niko’s nostrils flared. He started to the edge of the stage, and just in time. She started to fall into the audience— into his arms. “Starving a vampire? You’ll kill her.” He propped her head to his neck, trying to encourage her to feed. She didn’t.
“She wont feed unless she’s told to. Compliments of my witch.” The auctioner gave Niko a devilish smile. “Let’s start the bidding shall we?”
No one said anything. In fact, some seemed to back away from Niko and the redhead. He knew there was still hatred for vampires, but he had no idea that it was still so strong.
The thought that an immortal would dare break the code of starvation. The fact that he would openly admit it to a room full of nobles. He was a brave bastard.
“How much for her?” He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. Niko allowed the warmth of his body to fill her. “How much do you want for her?”
“I can’t just give her up to anyone. You have to meet the right qualifications.” The auctioner started to come down off the stage. The cord of the microphone seemed to stretch for miles. “Do you have a dungeon to keep the animal?”
Niko growled in unison with his Phoenix. His eyes lit up like embers. “She won't be kept in one.”
“Do you have extra help around the house to feed her? Her hunger is quite formidable.”
“She will feed from me.” Niko didnt want her drinking from anyone else, even if he knew the side affects of the binding that was to come. Eventually he would have to share her.
“When she kills you, I get her back. Are you okay with thise guidelines?”
