As soon as the nurse left, Jarod paced in the too small waiting room as he tried to pull himself together. Tears flooded his eyes as adrenaline and anger rushed through his body. He watched through the door window as the nurse walked down the hall. Jarod’s hands fisted and the urge to punch something, or rather, someone—overwhelmed him. He unclenched his hands and ran them through his hair. How long had he been there, corralled in that room, waiting for word on Ty? How long had it been since he’d found Ty? It felt like a lifetime.
