Luna Kira's POV.
I opened my eyes only to close them again from the bright light. My right hand instantly went to my forehead and I groaned in pain. 'Lexi... are you there?' I asked my wolf. When I received nothing but silence, I started to panic. 'Lexi..?' Nothing. I tried again, shooting up in a sitting position. I was in full panic mode. If I couldn't speak to my wolf, there must be something very wrong. I felt around for her presence in my mind, after a few minutes I could not feel any signs of my wolf.
I opened my eyes and squinted against the bright sun light that was slowly falling in the sky. It was around dusk and the sun would be setting soon. I stood to get a better view as to where I was. I sniffed the air, even though I didn't feel a connection with my wolf, for some unknown reason I still had all my heightened senses of my wolf. Actually it felt like I was in wolf form. I looked down, no I still had 8 fingers, 2 thumbs, on my right and left hands, which were attached to my arms. They were still attached to my shoulders. I looked down. I still had all 10 toes and feet and legs.
I wore a long flowy white dress, that reached my ankles. It flowed with the slight breeze. My long red hair also flowed with the breeze. My hair reached past my backside.
I was confused. I looked up again, that's when I noticed I was standing in the middle of an open field. I sniffed the air again doing a full circle to get a better sense as to try and failure out what I was dealing with. I had came to a stop as I watched as a giant willow tree literally grew up out of the ground. My eyes felt like they were popping out of my head, as not only did the willow grow to it fullness, a small pond appeared right beside it.
Then I fell back as I watched as a huge cliff shot up out of the ground and back for as far as my eyes could see, I was also quite certain that it went on even further. Water started to fall down it as soon as the cliff came to a stop about I wanna say 100 feet up in the air.
I felt beneath me as the ground changed from nothingness, to soil then grass grew all around me. I shot straight up as literally watched as the world came to life around me.
"Oh my Goddess!!" I said, as I watched animals of all shapes, sizes and species appeared out of no where!!! I was speechless as I watched in awe, as a white wolf with fur that look like silk, with spotted black paws, trotted up to me and bowed his or her head.
Wait a minute.. I know this wolf, "Lexi?"
The wolf nodded. 'Hello, Kira.' To say Lexi was huge, was an understatement! She was practically as tall as Bronx, Stephen's wolf.
"HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE!!" I shouted.
Lexi giggled. 'Why don't we go over there and ask her,' she said. I looked up, through trees that had appeared around us and they parted to reveal a woman standing by the willow, facing the lake. She wore a long flowing white sun dress like mine. Her long golden blonde hair flowed through the breeze. Her beauty I could not even begin to describe. 'What are we waiting for? An invitation!!' Lexi grunted at me. Lexi was not a very patient wolf. It irritated her whenever I was late, which was for everything. I was even late for my own Luna/Mate ceremony!! I laughed at her.
"Ok, let's go grumpy!" 'I'm not grumpy!!' she huffed. 'I'm just... impatient.' she huffed again and turned and trotted off towards the woman on the other side of.. 'What do you call this?' I asked myself.
'It is my home, my child. Do you like it?' a voice came into my mind. I froze. The voice was soft, gentle and sounded like an angel. There was a laugh in my head, 'I'm not an angel my child. Come sit with me by the water.'
My feet moved on their own accord, and walked toward the beautiful woman. As I got closer, I heard what sounded like singing.
At first I couldn't hear what was being sung, so I quicken my pace to get closer to hear what this angelic voice was singing. I came to a abrupt stop as I heard the woman singing one of my favorite songs, Hallelujah.
I walked up to and joined in singing with perfect harmony. My mother use to sing this song to me as a child whenever I had a nightmare or had a bad day at school. Even when I was in my teens, I couldn't find my mate, she would sing to me. I didn't find Stephen till I was 25 and he was 26. A tear escaped my eye and fell down my face as we sang.
I took in her features as we stood together and sang, one thought came to my mind to describe this beautiful woman. Actually, two words. Moon Goddess.
As we finished the song I noticed my wolf and all the other animals were sitting around us as if they were at a concert.
We smiled and giggled as we heard a collective sigh ring out from all the animals. I turned my attention back to the Moon Goddess and bowed my head and did a full on curtsied to the ground saying, "It's was a pleasure singing with you Mother of all."
I felt a hand gently being placed on my shoulder. I raised my head to look in her eyes. "Rise my child." I slowly rose from my crouched position on the ground. "The pleasure is all mine," she responded.
As I stood to my full height, she turned to stand beside me and lowered her hand to my back and said, "Come and sit we have much to discuss before I return you both to your mates." She led me over to a little cabin that I didn't even noticed till now. I looked over my shoulder to see that the trees returned to there previous positions. She guided me to the little porch swing on the veranda of the cozy cabin.
The cabin was painted baby blue, with black window sills and the shutters were a sky blue. There were 2 windows on either side of a sky blue door, the handle and the door jams were black. Each window sill had flower planters, with baby blue posies and white baby's breath.
The porch swing was a white swing. It could fit at least 2 people and a dog or a small wolf. The Moon Goddess sat on the right, I sat on the left and Lexi laid down at our feet in between us.
The Moon Goddess looked at with a smile and asked, "Would you like something drink, my child? Sweet tea, a cup of hot tea, soda, or coffee perhaps?"
She waited for a response.
I didn't realize until then that I was extremely thirsty. "Yes please Mother." I thought about what I would like to drink. "Oooo I know sweet tea please." I replied with a smile.
The Moon Goddess laughed, "Sure. Tea biscuits or little cakes and cookies?" she asked.
I put my finger to the side of my lips, putting a pretend thinking face on. "Hmmm that's a tough one." I said in a pretend thinking voice. The Moon Goddess giggled. I answered with pointing my finger straight up and replied, "Most definitely cakes and cookies." A huge smile on my face.
I could feel Lexi roll her eyes, and sigh with a, 'humph. What about me humans.' I laughed at this and reached up to scratch behind her right ear. It was weird to be able to do this to my own wolf.
"Would you like your mother's wolf milk Lexi? I know it's your favorite." The Moon Goddess asked her stretching out to also pet her.
Lexi perked up at that with a happy yelp and stood up wagging her tail, as if to say a yes please.
The Moon Goddess and I both laughed. As she stood, I did as well, "May I help you Mother?"
The Moon Goddess shook her head, with a huge smile on her face and replied, "No thank you my child. And please call me Selene." I simply nodded and sat back down.
Lexi sat down on her butt her tail still wagging. I giggled at her enthusiasm. I sighed as I leaned back into the swing put my arm up on the arm of the swing and grabbed hold of the front chain. I looked out toward the water and waterfall. I breathed in as I looked out and started to bite my nails, and swayed in the breeze. I felt Lexi looking at me. I turned my head to look up at my wolf. Did I mention that she was huge.
"What?" I asked her.
She tilted her head to the side as she looked down at me. I giggled. But her eyes were serious. She just looked at me with her big beautiful midnight blue eyes that stood out with her long nose.
I frowned at her. " What's wrong Lexi? You're starting to scare me." Before she could answer she looked at the door of the cabin, which the Moon Goddess left open and went through not a few minutes before.
Lexi jumped up and down as Selene placed a huge bowl, of what I assumed was her wolf mother's milk, on the ground in front of her. She also placed a bowl of dry kibble mixed with what looked like raw deer meat, which was her favorite as well. I hadn't known about the milk though.
I looked up as Lexi dove into the meat and kibble.. I got a, 'MMMMMMM... OH MY GODDESS!!! THIS IS SOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN THE DEER MEAT BACK HOME!!! Thank sooo much Selene.' She said without even looking up...
Selene just laughed and said, " Your very welcome, my child." She turned to me, "I could use your help now my dear child." She said as she motioned for me to follow her into the cabin. Upon entry, I looked around, we enter into a very small and cozy open floor cabin. It had a cozy size living room, with just a small simple chair and loveseat, with one table in between them. A bookshelf across from there. No television, A lamp on the end table and behind the chair, which I now just noticed, it was a rocking chair. The coffee table in front of the loveseat, and just like the matching rocking chair and couch the table was made of simple dark wood. It had 4 books with two book ends on either side of the books. The book ends were of two howling wolves facing each other. The floor was a simple dark plank leading throughout the cabin.
I followed Selene into the little kitchenette across to the other side of the cabin. It was modern and chic. It was gorgeous. For some reason it looked very familiar right down to the cutlery and cloth napkins.
Selene handed me two trays, one with little pieces of different cakes and cupcakes, and on the other were a variety of cookies. Selene turned back around to grab the last tray which had a full pitcher of sweet tea with lemons, and 2 glasses full of ice and tea. Each glass had 3 lemon wedges on the side of them. "Let's return to the porch swing my child. So we may discuss somethings." She said leading me back outside.
Lexi had finished her food and was just finishing up the milk. She lifted her head as we came through the door. She licked her muzzle, smiled and went back to her milk.
I smiled back and then noticed a table had appeared out of no where in front of the porch swing. My eyes widen in surprise. Selene placed her tray down and proceeded to take my trays from my hands and place them also on the table she stood up smiled and giggled. She reach forward and closed my mouth. "You are gonna catch flies that way my child." Her ice blue eyes soft. I shook my head.
I giggled with her. She helded her right arm out and her left hand on the small of my back, "Sit," I did as I was told. I sat on the left side and Selene on the right. She leaned forward and poured the sweet tea for myself and for herself. She then picked up a small plate, and picked out a piece of molten lava cake, a red velvet cupcake, and a triple chocolate chunk cookie and handed it to me. I accepted the plate with a confused look on my face.
Selene giggled again and before I could ask her she said, between giggles. "I am the Moon Goddess Luna Kira, I know all." I nodded my head with duh expression on my face, which made the Moon Goddess start laughing and smacking her knee!!! I then realized what just happened and burst out laughing as well. I even heard Lexi join in. After a few minutes of laughing Selene retrieved some of her own treats, as she was doing that I looked at Lexi who was cleaning herself, after eating. She paused looked over at me over her muzzle, smiled and looked down and continued her routine.
Selene handed me my glass of sweet tea I thanked her and took a sip. My eyes widen. The taste... It reminded me of granny's sweet tea... Granny past, away when I was 14th. The day before my 15th birthday. Lexi came a year early, due to the fact that I needed to be protected from the Rouge attack that took my granny.
A tear escaped my eye and slid down my face. The Moon Goddess, reached up to softly remove said tear. "There my child." She placed my glass and plate on the table and pulled me into a hug. "Your granny wouldn't want you to cry." She rubbed my back soothingly.
I sobbed softly into her shoulder. I shook. I felt Lexi rub against my leg and whining. I reached out with my left hand and ruffled her head. I pulled away from the Moon Goddess, still touching my wolf's head. I hiccupped and looked at my lap as I wiped away the rest of my tears as the Moon Goddess continued to rub my back soothingly. I gave a small sad smile as I raised my eyes to meet hers. "Feel better my child?" she asked with a small smile of her own.
I sniffed and nodded, "Yes thank you." I wiped my nose, "I just miss my granny everyday." I sighed and looked up to Lexi who rubbed her muzzle under my chin lovingly, as if to say it's ok I'm here.
I wrapped both my arms around her as she purred and I closed my eyes. I felt a hand on my shoulder, I looked over at Selene. "We don't have much more time, and I need to discuss something with you before I can send you back." She said with sadness in her eyes. She looked to Lexi, "With both of you."
I let go of Lexi, and we looked at each other, then back to Selene very confused. We both turned our heads to the side, saying "Huh?"
Selene burst into laughter, she raised her hand palm facing the both us, "I'm sorry," she laughed again with tears coming out of her. We looked back at each other, then back at Selene, who now was doubled over holding her stomach because she was laughing so hard. When she started snorting, OMG, both Lexi and I lost it. Soon we all were laughing so hard with tears falling out of our eyes, Lexi was rolling all over on the ground. Then something happened that caused us to pause and then start laughing all over again, all three of us snorted at the exact same time.
