Chapter 1

IT was around 1 o'clock and the sky was as clear as sea, I was enchanted by the sound of wind in the trees and the rustling of leaves. Our subject teacher at that time–Miss Leah, is known for her soft-gentle voice that will make you want to sleep in the middle of her class. “The Bennet family has five daughters, and because of this silly rule called an entail, none of the daughters can actually inherit–” My seatmate, Shaun, poked me. “Hey, wake me up when time is up.” I silently nodded as he crossed his arms at his desk and buried his face, facing me.

I looked at Shaun's sleeping face and could not help but think that he's really attractive and charming. No wonder there's always a girl confessing her love for Shaun and ended up being rejected. I even remembered when we were sophomore, there's a junior named Shelly. Everyone says she's the prettiest among the first years. Well, we encountered a few times as she's the class representative of her section and I am one of the student council. I can't say that she's pretty but I find her kinda cute. There was an event that time and the seniors that were singing the song, Titanium by David Guetta, can be heard all the way near the school entrance. Probably. it was really loud I thought my eardrum will explode, nevertheless, I had fun.

“I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose. Fire away, fire away~” Shaun pulled me and we joined the crowd where Elias, Maverick, and Andrew are. Shaun was smiling so big that you can tell that he's really having fun, and so am I. “Ricochet, you take your aim. Fire away, fire away~”

After the performance Elias suggested that we go on the third years' stall and eat, since the third years are the ones who are in charge of the foods but before we can even make a move, Andrew stopped us. “Guys, wait! If we are going to eat, why not go to Maia's stall, huh? I wanna see-” “LOL, give up, man! you don't stand a chance.” Maverick teased him and we all laughed. For all we know, Andrew has been courting Maia since last year and we see no progress at all. Poor, Andrew. “Shut the f**k up! I can feel it, Maia's gonna be my girlfriend if I propose one more time!” Andrew retorted.

“Yeah, yeah, whatever, man. Let's just go, Yuki's hungry.” Shaun interrupted their bickering and put his arm on my shoulder. My heart skipped a beat, I got confused. “I'm not!” I tried to shake off his arm but instead he even pulled me closer to him. I glared at him and he just laughed. Great! Just great, Shaun! When we arrived, Andrew hurriedly said hello to Maia and act all cute that I got goosebumps. I can almost see his tail wagging. He's like a dog. I sighed.

Shaun asked me, “Are you tired?” “No, I'm fine. Why?” I smiled to assure him that I am fine. He stared at me and I unconsciously averted my gaze. I suddenly felt embarrassed. Damn this, what is wrong with me?! “What? Why are you just staring at me?!” “Nope, it's nothing. You just look tired so I asked,” He smiled. “Why don't you just find a sit and wait for us?” Shaun suggested. I was about to say no when Elias agreed. “Yup, that would be great, Yuki. We'll going to order, what do you want?” I hesitated a bit but then, they assured me. “Really, it's fine, Yuki.” Shaun pats my head, I nodded as a response and told them anything's fine. “Okay, we'll be back.”

As I watch them walked way, I caught sight of Shelly together with her friends. She's that first year.. What are they doing? They are laughing while Shelly's face is turning red.

As I think about what are they up to, Shelly walked towards Shaun's direction. Andrew, Maverick and Elias was too busy to notice that the two are leaving, so I decided to follow them. And I'm curious!

They went to the back of the building.
