“You need to become my second slave!”
“Caw! Slave?”
Kobbit’s face twisted nervously. His eyes darted around — clearly calculating the pros and cons.
Why even hesitate? Even rolling in a pile of dog crap would be better than dying.
I helped him make up his mind.
“Never mind. Let’s just kill you. What’s the point of keeping a monster like you alive?”
I raised the hand hoe toward Kobbit’s neck.
“Caw! I’ll be your slave! Please take me as your slave!”
A cascade of system messages appeared — and one in particular made my heart pound.
“42,000 bars of gold!”
Gold was the most valuable resource in Royal Roader, even above mithril. Each bar was worth about $100,000 — that’s over $4.2 billion dollars in total. Add the other minerals, and the total exceeded $5 billion.
What a good boy!
