Chapter 18: Only her

Bella's POV

Today I have an appointment with Selina to meet her secret boyfriend. I was so eager, I even listed a dozen questions in order to get to know the man in detail. Me and Selina have been friends since we were little, I consider her my family. Especially after Selina's parents died in a traffic accident, I worried about her even more. It's been two years but Selina has barely opened up to anyone, she has only me as her best friend who can be trusted, which is unsettling.

I don't want Selina to stay closed forever, she needs to get out into the outside world, let other people come in and enrich her dull life. Even so, when I heard Selina say that she was dating a guy I didn't know, I was extremely worried. Especially when it seemed like Selina had completely fallen in love with the other man, she was attached to him for only a short time.

I stared at the door, watching the door slowly open. First I saw his broad shoulders and long toned legs. The space gradually expanded, and I finally saw Yami's complete form.

I was standing on the doorstep and he was in the hallway about ten centimeters lower. However, Yami is still a bit taller than me, maybe 1.9m tall. His tall stature made the doorframe seem cramped, and when he looked directly at me, I felt a slight shiver.

Yami's eyes were a deep red like wine, and around his body exuded a dark aura, making people feel that this man was scary at first glance. Contrary to what I thought of a dashing man with a fake smile, Yami didn't even smile when she saw me. He simply nodded and greeted me with a cold tone.

"Hi."

I don't know how to rate this man. He was nothing like the speculations in my imagination, which made me feel like I had lost the initiative. I decided to stay calm and monitor the situation, perhaps judging him by his appearance alone was impossible. So I just gently put my hand in front of him and introduced.

"Hi. I'm Selina's best friend, my name is Bella."

Yami helped Selina close the door, then he grabbed her waist and walked towards me.

He reached out and shook my hand, I was curious to know what identity this man would introduce himself to. Because Selina had said that the two of them weren't even lovers.

But I was disappointed again. Because Yami didn't do what I thought. He just responded to me with a curt reply.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Yami."

God, this man is so annoying. I didn't see any sincerity from him at all. His attitude is so condescending, like I'm not on his level. I frowned, then looked at Selina. However, now her gaze was no longer on me, all of Selina's attention was on her man.

"Haizzz..."

I let out a sigh, swallowing the complaint in my throat. I followed the two of them into the living room, carefully observing their movements. I noticed that Yami's gaze when facing Selina was completely different from when he looked at me. That gentle gaze was only for her, and when Selina puffed out her cheeks in a cute expression, he would smile intently at her.

I don't remember what issues we talked about after that, the last thing that remained in my mind was Selina's happy smile and Yami's eyes only her silhouette.

I was content with that.

There's nothing more important than him coming to her with love. I hope this man will be with Selina and fill her lonely heart. Selina deserves to be happy. I wish her all the best.
