I walked into the ballroom and everything in there caught my breath. I’d been in such places before, and their space would sometimes make me feel so small–or so plain, worse tonight. I felt a little out of place with how I was dressed. Bloody rich people. I looked around me again. Crystal chandeliers spiraled down from the arching sky-blue ceiling, illuminating the glimmering golden walls and a floor so polished it looked like an iced-over lake.
