Kalev’s POV The armory smelled like oil and metal. It was a familiar smell. It had always smelled this way, but I noticed it more now. The sharp, clean edge of it grounded me. Maybe it was because I felt like I was doing something proactive. Maybe I just missed fighting. I’d been a warrior once, in my youth. I’d never fought in battle, but I was well-trained.
