Kalev’s POV
“f**k!” I slammed my fist into the desk.
“Override the wisps deployment,” I declared loudly. With my eyes darting between the game’s screen and the keyboard, I was on the verge of panicking.
I hadn’t sent in those wisps. I hadn’t deployed any wisps. I was still gutted over the council meeting and the change in the rules of the game. That was enough torture as far as I was concerned. There was no need to send in wisps to cattle the contestants towards the beach.
Not to mention the fact that Senna was now sequestered at the bottom of a ravine with Korrigan’s pack closing in on her.
But the system didn’t respond.
I tried again. “Override,” I said loudly into the voice activated microphone. “Authorization: Kalev Moren.”
But again, there was nothing.
